GradedOnACurve
Picked this up on a whim at Repo records when I was in Philadelphia this weekend. Much better than I thought it was gonna be. Still no Sink or Swim (haha) but I definitely dig. Blood Red vinyl is purdy! I saw this at Repo Records and Long Tooth in Philly. Also saw this at Vintage Vinyl in Jersey on the way home. Hope this helps some local folks!

Shitty Rambo
Album is a bit of a snoozer. Not bad by any means, just really low energy.
manicdogbert
For those who got red vinyl copies, was there anything on the shrinkwrap (a sticker?) to indicate it was a colored vinyl pressing?
GradedOnACurve
For those who got red vinyl copies, was there anything on the shrinkwrap (a sticker?) to indicate it was a colored vinyl pressing? Yeah it had a typical S1D "Free Download" sticker but indicated "Blood Red Vinyl"
jerseypride
For those who care, the pressing information on this record is a bit different than what was originally announced by SideOne: From http://thegaslightanthem.bigforumpro.com/t3458-correct-elsie-vinyl-pressing-info : Elsie - SideOneDummy Euro Presses 1st Press - 05/09/11 Black Vinyl - 1,500 Pressed - 12'' Blood Red Vinyl - 1,500 Pressed - 12'' (Independent Record Stores Exclusive) (pressed at KDG, Austria) US Presses 1st Press - 06/09/11 Black Vinyl - 1,500 Pressed - 12'' Blood Red Vinyl - 1,500 Pressed - 12'' (Independent Record Stores Exclusive) (pressed at Rainbo Records in Canoga Park, CA) 2nd Press - 06/09/11 Black Vinyl - 1,000 Pressed - 12'' All future represses will be on black vinyl; the red vinyl will NOT be repressed. The second US press can NOT be distinguished from the first US press.
jerseydave77
That is not a little different: it is completely different. I need to stop at my local shop this week anyway.

jerseydave77
There is one way to sell out a pre-order of black records that will be continually repressed - issue information in a pseudo-honest manner. I would have ordered it anyway but this is the type of shit that annoys me to no end. Up front info isn't asking much.
mcm1610
So if two batches of black vinyl got pressed on the same day, why is it considered a second press?
jerseypride
So if two batches of black vinyl got pressed on the same day, why is it considered a second press? They weren't pressed on the same day; they just have the same release date. When the pre-order sold out, they did another press before the street date (today). decibel120
For the uber vinyl nerds: the first pressing of black vinyl is limited to 1,300 pieces. The records were pressed at Rainbo Records in Canoga Park, CA. The only other color of vinyl available on this title is the limited edition "blood red" vinyl that can only be found at independent record stores around the US, Canada and UK. The red vinyl is limited to 1,500 copies. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

badscooter
Wow. I'm just getting really into buying records and I thought I had things figured out, this confuses me. Oh well, maybe I'll track down a red copy.
idreamofpunk
if there is nothing to distinguish between the first and second black pressing, that just means they pressed 1,000 more copies for the first pressing. That's not a "second pressing."

stegabilly
I picked up the black asit was more limited, it better had not be the same number as the red as I would have preferred that if that was the case!
