i think girl with the dragon tattoo should've gotten the nomination for best movie (even though i know it wouldn't win), considering the lack of depth in the nominees this year

glad bret mckenzie got nominated for best original song from the muppets

ryan gosling was definitely snubbed this year

the only two best movie noms i've seen this year were moneyball which wasn't that great and midnight in paris which was really good.

it's weird to see no pixar film get nominated, but it makes sense this year

good for jonah hill. moneyball was the first movie i've seen where he didn't annoy me.

rooney mara really does deserve the win for dragon tattoo. i can't imagine anyone else being more immersed in their role.

Jonah Hill didn't do anything in Moneyball! He just fucking sat there and nodded most of the film.

Trent Reznor and his partner should've been nominated again for GWTDT.

Ryan Gosling snubbed.

Bridesmaids was a decent movie... but come on. Oscar worthy? Of multiple nominations at that?

Nobody even saw Midnight in Paris.

I'm pulling for Rooney Mara. That'd be a nice little upset.

Midnight in Paris was great.

I'm shocked Ides of March wasn't nominated for best picture because it was better than all of the other movies nominated (except midnight in paris and Tree of Life).

Also suprised The skin I live in wasn't nominated for best foreign film.

I really didn't like The Skin I Live In. I found it completely unappealing. Like a Sci-Fi flick void of any fun or wonder. It was an odd film.

That's the exact reason I lovedit. Also the acting was great and it was consistantly suprising.

Why the heck hasn't Drive been nominated for anything?

...that came out this year, right?

Honestly? Because it's a good movie but The Fast and The Furious was better. And we all know awards shows will deny Vin Diesel's greatness until the end of time. So if FATF > Drive but Drive > half the other nominees = No nomination. It's the Vin Diesel paradox and no matter how sexy Ryan Gosling might be he can't get around it.

Agreed on both counts.

I am mostly annoyed...borderline pissed...that Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross didn't get nominated for the soundtrack. They were for a Golden Globe but got shafted by The Artist.
