evenscore
My best find is probably the copy of the Alice Cooper / Motorpsycho saw blade shaped split 7" that I found in a pawnshop in Nottingham, UK while on tour with the band I play in. It was dirt cheap, only £2. The blue version is from the 3rd pressing out of 280 copies.

Guest
i never have any good finds. i overpay for all my records from people on eBay and Discogs because i'm a shithead and buy into hype before realizing i'll probably only listen to it once or twice. My local record store sells boring indie rock and the thrift store just has Herb Alpert and Barbara Streisand records.
donlombardo
I got gorilla biscuits start today on purple vinyl at a record show paid $25 the guy had no idea what it was had it under assorted punk best find to date. If he had no idea what it was, why did he take 25 for it?
donlombardo
If we're talking vinyl: I have befriended an old punk that runs a label and distro, but not very actively. He has had some of the same items in the distro since the mid 90's, and still charges what he'd take for them back then... So I've spent two evenings at his place just digging around in boxes, him helping, and with very friendly prices. I've gotten maybe 50+ of things for approx 130 dollars. Sold two items and got that money back. Total value was maybe 500 dollars. Mostly Swedish punk and hardcore from the 90's. the good stuff. I got the Intensity - Ruins of our future LP for 7 bucks ppd last year. Got the purple Buttsweat 7" instead of black from Fat when I ordered. That was sweet. Bought Satanic Surfers - 666 Motor Inn from my friend for 15 bucks. He wanted to give it to me, I wouldn't let him. he had already given me Millencolin - Same Old Tunes as a present. Slick Shoes - Rusty for $20 on music stack.

It was at a record fair in a box of assorted punk i was going through than start today came up with the $25 price tag already on it I assumed he didnt know what it was because that record can go for almost ten times that price tag. noalarmplanet
I got an original single of "I want to hold your hand" by the Beatles for 16$. I've seen the single alone go for 300 plus. Then I looked at the back, motherfucker was signed. I have had only one verification done and as far he could tell it's authentic.

kriss
Sealed copies of Adios Amigos by Ramones and Don't Worry About Me by Joey Ramone for $12 a piece in late '10. Now that's fucking beautiful. Where at?? I can't remember the name of the shop at the moment, it was some hole in the wall in a grocery plaza near Mellie's house in New Jersey. The owner mentioned that they had both probably been sitting there since they had first been released. I love finding records like that where they've been sitting for nearly 2 decades untouched! Nice. I got Adios Amigos for 3000 yen (75 yen to the dollar). I put in on eBay for $100 and then thought what the fuck was I doing and kept it. Then I got a sealed Don't worry about me 2 days ago for 4000 yen. (much cheaper than the current going rate on discogs) Yeah, the cheapest JR solo copy is going for like, $80 I think? That's the cheapest it's been in awhile though. The only record I still need is Acid Eaters and I'll have a complete Ramones collection! jerseydave77
Kriss - are you no longer Stressed? I notice the name change. I keep saying it since it's a perfect combination of classic punk and great value: NOTA - s/t on Rabid Cat for $
kriss
^ hahah. I actually got the name when I was 18 and playing in this punk rock band with a couple of kids - basically, I was really regimented and insisted we practice constantly to tighten up the songs while also being solely responsible for getting us shows and making sure we were paid gas money at each venue. The other two dudes didn't really care all that much so in juxtaposition to that, I was called Kriss Stress due to my uh...stressing out? (i.e. caring about getting things done). The name stuck for all of these years. On this board in particular, I've gotten comfortable enough and know half of the folks real names on here where I feel I can address them without using their board handles so I struck off the last name. TL;DR I know..

boonethompsonlives
Found a sealed copy of The Dogmatics - Everybody Does It for about six dollars at my local record store here in New Jersey. I was surprised to see it, seeing that The Dogmatics were never extremely popular outside of Boston.
almightyseancore
i bought a black copy of "life of arctic sounds" from a local store for $3 about 5 years ago. i guess those are special? i can't seem to find proper pressing info, but when i see these sell online the blacks tend to go for crazy. genuma
Found Touche Amore's "to the beat of a dead horse" First Press on black at my local Goodwill for $1. Who would take that record to goodwill?! I mean I get donating Herb Alpert and whatever else 50s-70s records, but I've never seen a record under 20 years old at my goodwill. seriously. I've completely given up on even checking the vinyl section at every goodwill I go to.
