Hello I figured this will be the best way to insure everyone gets a refund for the Deadhorse cassette they ordered. I have made this email address strictly for the refund process.  I am contacting you because you have ordered a cassette from either Deadhorse or Ethic Records and because of a mix up at the cassette duplication factory they will not be made. If you want the refund please e-mail us your paypal email address and how many cassettes you ordered and we will get the refund to you as quick as possible(it may take a couple weeks to get them all out but you will get it ASAP)

First, I'd like to know who is supplying the refund?  I'll gladly take a refund from Ethic Records, but if Deadhorse is footing the bill I am not interested in receiving a refund as I bought the cassette to support them, I don't even have a tape deck.

Wow, I totally forgot about this! I didn't even request a refund when the poster arrived, I think I just lazily glanced at the note and assumed the cassettes had been delayed. Not worried about it - Brain has gone well above and beyond to make lots of awesome and affordable Deadhorse merch in the past, consider my payment a donation. Also, I love the poster!

Putting out a cassette is the easiest thing I have ever done as a record label. It's cheap, the design is simple and the whole process from start to finish is done in 2 weeks. To hear a label go on and on about problems at the manufacurer and delays means they either chose the wolrd's worst cassette manufacuring plant or they are full of crap and spent all the money on drugs and porn and passed the blame off on someone else.

To make 250 cassettes runs about $300. A chance for a band to get their music out there for a cost of $1.20 and a retail of arond $5 including shipping is hard to pass up. Especially when hipsters have driven vinyl pricing through the roof. So for those supporting bands by buying tapes, thank you and keep it up. These types of "delays" are not common. Probably not even real.

Very true, but it should be pointed out, this was NOT a DIY project, Deadhorse had a start-up cassette label release it (Ethics Recordings), they are the ones that royally screwed the pooch.

Yeah that's who I was talking about. I think the band got screwed on the deal and did what they could to try to fix it.

Uhh,

At this point the band should just buy some blank cassettes on E-Bay, print out the J cards, and just put them together by hand and send them out a little at a time in the order that they were received.

I know it will take forever, but at least if the tapes start being shipped out, it will look better for the band. And who wouldn't want a hand made item from a band they like for $5.

Oh yeah, and at this point cut off any additional orders ;)

I'm puttin out this release and thought I would drop in to clear up some of the confusion. The cassette is limited to 100 total with 50 on clear gold and 50 on clear red tint . The cassettes will be in mine and deadhorse hands the first week of April. If anyone has any other questions fell free to message me here or email me at [email protected]

Had to read the first page again and couldn't stop laughing at this post made on February 29, 2012!! :D:lol::D:lol:

What a joke!

It pains and frustrates me to see this is still continuing on and on, as I have contacted the former label guy on 3 separate occasions, supplying them YET AGAIN with everyone's specific paypal information for the refund, as well as emails to contact said buyers, to make sure things were made right.  This is not someone I am in constant contact with, and when I have tried to make constant contact, I get ignored.  I had been assured on those latest occasions over the last few months that all would be taken care of, and of course, I was lied to.  Again.

What I don't understand is that some people received refunds, and some people didn't, and I wasn't supplied with an ounce of the information.  This release wasn't our idea, it wasn't something we ever had the notion to do.  We were contacted by the label to help get them off their feet with what they viewed would be a release to help them out, and we just agreed to it, because there was really no reason to say no.

Instead, it just ended up making us look like jokes, and it really pisses me off.

There's no one even in Deadhorse anymore.  It's just Rachel and I, and we have no other members that we currently make music with or have the ability to tour with, or move forward with.  In a perfect world, we'd love to make it happen again, but it just seems as if it's not in the cards, so as someone stated today, we're certainly in no position to make a DIY version of a cassette we personally never wanted to release in the first place.

To those that were screwed multiple times by empty promises from this "friend" of mine that really humiliated me, my band, himself, and his label, just get ahold of me, and I'll send you your money today.  I'm just tired of this, and would like it to be put to rest, because to anyone that has supported Deadhorse over the last few years, or knows anything about us, this is the last thing we ever wanted, and we're honestly not okay with this sort of behavior, regardless if it is just a 5 dollar cassette.  The principal is super messed up, and I would be just as pissed as any of you on principle alone, because this guy took us all for a ride, and only harmed my band's name in the middle of it all.

Just another nail in the coffin of a lot of the things I put so much time, hard work, and effort into to build up.  Just get at me, and we'll take care of this.  Sorry YET AGAIN.

Brian, as always your ownership of the situation is admirable.  And as always I'll be insisting that the only one I'd be accepting a refund from is Ethic's themselves.

Sad to hear about the state of the band though, does this mean Deadhorse is effectively done?  Or will you and Rachel be continuing the name yourselves?

We're back up north in Erie now!  We left North Carolina at the end of June.  We're actually talking with some friends about starting to play together again, and actually do some shows and then eventually touring again, so we'll see what we might be able to get going for the rest of the year!

Sorry, but I don't give a fuck whether you back Brian and Deadhorse or not.

I just asked Brian to give me details of the guy who stole my money.

It's not about how much it was, it's for principles sake.

I messaged you forever ago, did you not get it?  It was while on my phone, sometimes I've had problems with that, haha.  I'll message you right now.  Sorry my friend!
