shenanigans
If you are pressing a record with a pre-order and can't make your release date, send out an email letting people know that it is delayed BEFORE the release date, not three weeks saying it is going to be another month. Learn from MTS's mistakes. Thanks in advance /rant hankmurphy

danbass
I'm now two months into waiting for the White Stripes bundle from PopMarket/Sony. They charged me the day I put my pre-order in and I've received nothing but Tier 1 CS replies of "We're looking into it." Just threatened a BBB complaint to try to get some real information on whats going on with my order.

I have gotten some within a week and some took up to 3 or 4 months but rest assure that they always do show up and usually packaged well

One Hundred Fifty-Two
tip/option #2: DON'T DO THE PRE-ORDER UNLESS THE RECORDS ARE IN HAND OR UNTIL THE TEST PRESSINGS ARE APPROVED. Yes, but what about when an insert holds up a release for 3 months?
necroscope
Yeah the obvious thing to do is start taking pre-orders when the record is at the pressing plant. OR....just wait and sell the damn thing when it's actually finished. shenanigans
hickey
just wait and sell the damn thing when it's actually finished. This should really be the only option. taylo234 and shenanigans
thechuckdiezel
I did a pre-order once and go fucking figure a heat wave hit Texas and the plant I was pressing thru had to close down untill it cooled down enough for them to be able to operate again which took about 2 months it was horrible but luckily everyone was very understanding. Moral of the story pre-orders are dumb and should be avoided at all cost just wait till everyting is in had and put them up for sale. You can still hype/promote a record with out having a pre-oder. shenanigans
danbass
popsmarket is primarily a tool to get rid of excess inventory and because of that, its very hit or miss in terms of when the order arrives. I have gotten some within a week and some took up to 3 or 4 months but rest assure that they always do show up and usually packaged well They actually sent me a tracking number around the time that everyone else's shipped but UPS never got the package. Three weeks later their CS department went looking, determined the order got lost, changed the order to "backordered" and then started treating it like it was an order placed after it went out of stock. Of course I placed the order minutes after it hit Pop Market and they still have my $55.
xchriszx
If something is delayed send out an email saying so. Things happen and most people will understand as long as they are given a heads up.
aspigasound
Even if the record is at the plant or the test presses are approved you can still run into a ton of problems. We try to always post the pre-orders after everything is off to the pressing plant but, there is no guarantee that it won't run into problems there. It's really hit or miss. flood
people just need to learn an ounce of patience. you guys would have had an aneurysm literally mail ordering records in the early 90s. take your instant gratification and jam it up your asses
