The Doctor
Finally got around to listening to my red copy. It's warped--First tracks unplayable on side 1. Sigh...
KnowNothing
Got my replacement copy from KRM today... It was red, which is good, and it was warped, which is bad. Not nearly as warped as my first copy, but bad enough that the stylus still hops of the record.

apeman
for people who have problems with an unplayable record, what kind of turntable are you using? Wall-mounted Rega P3 - and many years of experience with adjusting the tracking force, stylus positioning and so fort. Kingsroad were nice about it and have sent me a black copy of the BR album and a pink Menzingers. I hope that will work out.

The Doctor
for people who have problems with an unplayable record, what kind of turntable are you using? AT-PL120 with an AT-440MLA cartridge/stylus Were you expecting those with problems to say Crosley?
kyacrash
for people who have problems with an unplayable record, what kind of turntable are you using? AT-PL120 with an AT-440MLA cartridge/stylus Were you expecting those with problems to say Crosley? I also have a nice setup, Denon DP-300F with an AT-440MLa cartridge. So that's definitely not the case. I understand the question though. A few years ago a bunch of the epitaph represses played very poorly on lower end turntables but fine on nicer ones. I remember Bad Religion - Against the Grain was one of them, and I think Dropkick Murphys - Do or Die and a couple of the NOFX represses. This time around it's different though. moonbeams
Have you tried adjusting the anti-skate? Wall-mounted Rega P3 - and many years of experience with adjusting the tracking force, stylus positioning and so fort.Kingsroad were nice about it and have sent me a black copy of the BR album and a pink Menzingers. I hope that will work out. Oh...ok.. Both my red True North and blue failed states have this bend on the first track, but my record player does a good job tracking warps, so they play fine. I remember playing the failed states on a record player without any weights and it through the tone arm up.
paal
Have you tried adjusting the anti-skate? Oh...ok.. Both my red True North and blue failed states have this bend on the first track, but my record player does a good job tracking warps, so they play fine. I remember playing the failed states on a record player without any weights and it through the tone arm up. Same here, I'm glad I can adjust the weight on my tone-arm a lot, but these two records are the only two records in my collection where I have to adjust the weight to almost the maximum to get them to play correctly. The Doctor
So my first red copy was warped pretty badly. King's Road apologized and sent me a 2nd red one. This one wasn't as warped as the 1st, but the first track on each side was unplayable. So I emailed them again. And they were very nice and apologetic. They told me to just send back the first, most warped version, and keep the 2nd red one and they'd send me a black copy for my troubles. They Fed Ex'd it to me in two days. So now I have a red copy for collecting purposes and a black copy that plays perfectly for everyday use. So while the experience was frustrating, I have to tip my hat to King's Road and say their customer service is pretty great.

yancey47
I hadn't heard a new Bad Religion song in about 15 years but heard True North last night and was kinda happy that they still sound exactly like Bad Religion. youspinmeround
