somethingvinyl
I guess these didn't sell out after all? Looks that way. And honestly, I can't believe it. 1,500 isn't that many sets for a huge band like DCFC, especially since two records are pretty expensive to get and 3 records in the box set were never pressed before. oxxo
My guess is that lots of orders got cancelled after the endless delays and fuck ups.
dreamover
Not all 1500 were put up for sale. The ones that were available sold out. but they're being sold through different channels.
Skibum00
City Hall has it listed with a 45 rpm version of Transatlanticism still, I wonder if they fixed it for the new ones or are just continuing to advertise it incorrectly. Still annoyed Trans wasn't 45, it was one of the deciding factors that made me buy it.
futures
I would think they're just advertising incorrectly at this point. Probably a cut+paste by someone with no background on this release and its issues.

somethingvinyl
What a good price ^ I was hoping I could get a little more like $50 a piece. Mostly joking.

atticus
It would be a lie to not fantasize about paying for part of the box set by selling the mislabeled ones. $50 is technically part of the box set... why not let me pay for $50 worth of your box set somethingvinyl

atticus
Haha. Why not, because I could get more, maybe? probably so... but think of the warm fuzzy feeling you'd get by helping out some poor cheapskate.... gotta be worth something right? somethingvinyl
$262.68 is what I paid on Amazon. Nothing warm about that.
futures
I replaced my incorrectly labeled records with the correct ones. Now the incorrect ones wait to be sleeved. =] I think it would be pretty cool is some clever graphic designer made the jackets have some kind of combination of the correct album artwork and the album artwork that is depicted on the label for each of the mislabeled records. Daniel Dopp
Yes, the sleeves are a go. I don't have any kind of set date as to when I think they'll be printed but I'm hoping sooner rather than later. I just started a new quarter at school so that could slow progress down but I absolutely want sleeves for them so these WILL happen. I'm gonna make a thread for them within the next few days because I want some input on what kind of design you guys would favor. This is for all of us (all of us that want them) so I want everybody to have a chance to have their two cents heard regarding how they'll turn out. Just got mine in the mail today from Furnace. No invoice, just records. Also, I'm stoked about having covers for the mis-labeled records. I was thinking that maybe I'd make a well-planned, poorly executed box set for the mis-labels that leaves glue residue on the new covers in order to match the original covers. I'd also make it slightly too big to fit into an Expedit in order to match the frustration that the original box set offers. Let me know if anyone is interested in that offer. Maybe Sapst and I can offer a bundle package!
truexbeliever
I posted this a while back, but some people are still having issues with the glue lines on their covers so here it is again: http://www.danielsmith.com/Item--i-072-010-001-LIST This stuff worked perfect for me after thinking I was never going to get the glue off. David The Gnome
do people really need covers for their misprinted records? Do people really need the vinyl collective forum? No; We're here though and a handful of us that have 5 records with no jacket for them want them. Also, for me, it's an opportunity to fill a "need" for myself and others and also to design some cool jackets and get more experience printing in different applications. noalarmplanet
dreamover
Yeah, but we already have jackets for the good ones. I guess it makes wens for people who just acquire the misprints, but otherwise it seems kinda ridiculous.

It might be interesting if the artwork or design plays with the idea of the misprints lol just a thought!
