After a couple of listens, I like this album a lot. The old Kyuss groove is still there and Garcia's voice sounds great. I also like the fact that the album doesn't sound overproduced. I've only listened to a digital copy, has anyone picked up a vinyl copy yet? Mine won't arrive until next week.

This album didn't really do much for me on several listens. Still, they're coming to town in a couple of weeks, I figured I'd go see them for the Kyuss tunes if nothing else. Played it again today and it's finally starting to sink in for me a little.

I've heard it's a grower, but I was digging this one right away. The only song I don't care much for is the single.

Listened a few times on bike rides and the first few songs are really good but than it gets boring to me

Musically obviously not quite as good as Kyuss, but still some good desert rock tunes one it.

And yeah, they're also coming to my town. As someone who never got to see Kyuss live,

they are probably be the best Kyuss cover band you can hope for.

 

But damn, the artwork is ugly...

Got my vinyl copy in the other day, stoked that it has 2 exclusive bonus tracks. The vinyl sound great, much better than the digital copy I was listening to previously. The artwork is definitely horrible, but I think this album will be in my top 5 at the end of the year.

I was just listening to this at the airport and didn't make it past the third song. It's like a bowl of Cheerios with no sugar. If only this album had the sugar I was hoping for. Bummed because I expected this to be a real kicker. Next.

Just getting into this. I listened to "Dragona Dragona" first and was not impressed simply by the messy sound of the performance. Listened to "Dark and Lovely" and was blown away. Warming up to the former track now. Trying to hear this whole thing on grooveshark first but I'm thinking I'm going to be picking this one up on black vinyl.

Scored this from amazon marketplace and have listened to it twice today. Loving it more and more. Had a bit of buyer's remorse initially after purchasing but that has completely dissipated now and I am full throttle for this album. I wish more people were on board with this.

Yeah this has really grown on me.   I think Dragona Dragona is the weak track here.  I also think the 2nd disc is the better half of the album.

I haven't had enough time with it to really decide if there is a superior disc but I can totally understand why you'd say that. Honestly, "Dragona Dragona" has completely grown on me. I was unimpressed at first but I think that may have mostly been because it was the first track I heard and I was mostly taken aback by the production style and the rhythm sounded a little sloppy but I've come to see through all that by now. I can see myself really wearing the shit out of this album.

And true to form, two months later, I've been playing the shit out of a CD copy I got from work in my car for about three weeks straight and just felt the need to pull out my LP and spin it tonight. This might be AOTY for 2013 for me. An absolutely stellar piece of work. I'm extremely excited to hear a follow up which is supposedly not far off. How are more people on here not raving about this?
