Guest
Edit: that was fast. Gone now. http://shop.temporaryresidence.com/catalin1927 "THIS IS A PRE-ORDER!! ITEM WILL SHIP ON OR AROUND JANUARY 31!! This is an extremely unique, extremely rare item that we are lucky to have to sell to you while supplies last. Recently Eluvium was commissioned to score a new exhibit by renowned installation artist, Charles Long, for The Austin Contemporary museum. This album is a highly limited artifact from that exhibit, pressed in a numbered edition of 300. Each side of opaque cream-colored vinyl features a single, side-long 20-minute composition by Eluvium. The pieces play on a constant loop during the exhibit on these very records, so this is not just simply a record, it's a piece of fine art. housed in gorgeous hand-printed metallic gold and royal purple jackets, each copy also includes a matching screen-printed download card and custom envelope. These are too beautiful for words! For more details on the CATALIN exhibit, visit The Austin Contemporary." Derek™
I just may hop on this. Sounds interesting, but I'd like to make sure it's something I'd actually listen to.
fish
I was just about to post this myself. What a nice surprise announcement this was. I can't imagine 300 copies will last too long.

I don't think you are going to have too long to decide, down to 200 already.
Guest
I bought it without hesitation. I bought the deluxe Floor record like a minute before I saw that this was available. I have spent too much on records today but oh well. Totally worth it.

Interesting trailer. Not sure what I feel about that, but the idea of these two teaming up does not seem like it could be a bad thing. abovetheearth
it says its 20 mins on a constant loop. i dunno. love the artist. just in the air.
deletedunknown
Tempting, but I'm not sure it would get much listening value especially if it's pieces meant to be on loop. That kind of stuff is better in digital really.
rickydenim
Really want to hear it first also.
radiatorhums
Ordered! Thanks for the heads up! I have yet to be disappointed by an Eluvium release and I know I'd be mad at myself if I missed out on this because I hesitated. The packaging sounds awesome. fish
I take the description as that it is 2 different 20 minute songs that play over and over again during the art exhibit. It's not going to need to be played like that to enjoy it. So don't let that stop you from buying it. Over 100 sold in a few hours. Only 100 more to go. I think the rest are being sold at the exhibit. mdb

radiatorhums
^ That's exactly what I got. I read it as two long pieces that were played as a loop, not too long pieces consisting of a loop.

Check out Eluvium - Envenom Mettle from his new album. It has Mark from EITS and the other half of Inventions. That might give you a taste. rickydenim
Hope its good! I took a gamble on it. For over $50 I hope I like it!
radiatorhums
I'd love if this selling relatively quickly gave Temp Res some incentive to press some of Eluvium's back catalogue.
Derek™
I'd love if this selling relatively quickly gave Temp Res some incentive to press some of Eluvium's back catalogue. For what it's worth, I inquired about this just a few weeks ago. TRL promptly got back to me. No dice, unfortunately. At least not in the foreseeable future. maximuss
i wake up and see this post, thank you, happy to have it, big fan of this artist! Ordered 1 of the last
Derek™
Well. I give. With as fast as these are going, I figured I'd pull the trigger now instead of regretting it later. $27 PPD is a little steep for a single LP... but it is Eluvium we're talking about. Derek™
I asked about Nightmare Ending a while back and they said they were looking into it. Fingers crossed! I, too, asked about NE and was told that there's nothing in the pipeline. Unfortunately.
rickydenim
I, too, asked about NE and was told that there's nothing in the pipeline. Unfortunately. Damn it! With all the great reviews I would have thought it would be a no brainer! Well you never know I guess..
