Mark Lanegan Band - 2 new live releases
scarfaceclaw replied to axisrecapital's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Likewise, missed it. "Purchase Limit 3" seems a little high if there's just 250 copies of each, hopefully every buyer treasures their copies. -
PO NOW : Chelsea Wolfe - Birth of Violence (09/13)

Anyone have an opinion on how the Newberry pressing sounds? I really dig this album, though can appreciate how fans of her earlier work might find it a little flat. -
PO: Mark Lanegan - Straight Songs of Sorrow

Liking these tunes better than anything he's released since Blues Funeral - the bio story helps I think - looking forward to the album. -

Argh missed out on a Deathwish - thanks for posting though. Forget how awesome this group was sometimes, and would have been great if they released more material. -
PO Aldous Harding - Designer

Death From Above "Heads Up" EP reissue
scarfaceclaw replied to bgdesign's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
The email was amusing - unsure if I want a French-Canadian arm hair now or not. Many thanks to lethalenforcer and others above for the info they provided on this. Your Heads Up Vinyl Is Coming Soon! Hello Dear Human/Ancient Fashion Records Customer! First of all, thank you for buying Heads Up on vinyl! We sold all the split color vinyl in under 2 hours! We were totally overwhelmed by the response. Incredible. As I write this message I am waiting in my apartment for records to arrive at my door from Third Man Pressing! This is very exciting. By purchasing the vinyl last weekend you participated in a pre-sale for a record that is officially being re-released Nov 2nd 2018. Once the records arrive (any minute now!), I will start to prepare them for shipment and get them out of the door before I leave for the Heads Up! Is Now tour on October 25th. I'll have all the unsigned vinyl on it's way to you before then. As for the autographed copies, Jesse and I will sign those when we're in LA together on Nov 5th, and I'll do my best to get them all out the door before I continue tour on the 7th. If I run out of time, the rest of the records will be shipped as soon as I get back from tour. Hopefully you won't scratch your faces off waiting. Some of you have been waiting 16 years for this (myself included), and a few more weeks won't kill you. Such is D.I.Y.! If it's any consolation, it's possible that you might also receive one of my French-Canadian arm hairs or other random DNA stuck to the record box. I am not encouraging you to clone me, but if you do please raise me kindly and feed (new) me Lasagna and red wine. Thanks! SEBASTIEN, Ancitn -

I'm really enjoying this album now, it's been a grower for sure. Wasn't too impressed on first listen but very much warming to it. -

Yup, totally dig Warpaint & really liked the Right On! album from Jenny Lee too. Shipping from the official store is very reasonable considering it seems to be UK-based, so ordered the signed vinyl. -
The best David Bowie album
scarfaceclaw replied to SaulManella's topic in Everything Else Message Board
Nice, swap the order of Low and Station to Station and you have my top four! But yeah, very difficult question given the longevity of the artist, the wide-ranging stylistic shifts over his career, and personal tastes of the listener. -
I have a pink version, and had never noticed the ring nor any playback issues. Playing it now, I can definitely see the ring. And, there is scratchiness in the left channel just before and during the part where the stylus runs over the ring. I can no longer access OPs sound file, but it's not a huge issue for me - one of those things I would have otherwise put down to the charm of vinyl. But seems as though it could be the case with every copy. One of the most treasured pieces in my collection nonetheless.

Same here with my OG red, which sounds great. Very tempted by the clear reissue for completion's sake, and of course curious to hear it. I don't see all that many on ebay...but I do see the prices remain ridiculous. Will be interesting to see where the one starting at GBP 9.99 finishes. https://www.ebay.com/itm/PORCUPINE-TREE-DEADWING-2005-RED-VINYL-2LP-POSTER-STEVEN-WILSON-PROG-ROCK/282767122066?hash=item41d63bde92:g:p~QAAOSwevlaLQuM

She doesn't seem too enthused on the plastic sleeve herself. -

Jakob Thread: LP5 Hype Edition
scarfaceclaw replied to Derek™'s topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
No real progress but Feb 2017 newsletter from Mylene Sheath says they're still cometh: "So we get at least one email everyday asking us if we're going to be pressing up the Jakob catalog on vinyl. We had announced that we would be doing it last year, but the schedules just didn't line up. But we have good news, the wheels are back in motion We'll be pressing the self-titled album, Subsets of Sets, Cale:Drew, and Solace - so be prepared, for they do indeed cometh. Stay tuned!" -

That's a shame...would also love to have the Adorata EP in a physical format. Looking forward to the Lanegan though. -

PO Sept 23rd - Jim James - Eternally Even
scarfaceclaw replied to briand1313's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Bummer...yeah upon looking at his website it's either the deluxe w/lithograph, or an autographed sleeve copy - but not both. Posts at Steve Hoffman think the vinyl version has poor/absent bass quality compared to digital - does anyone have any similar thoughts with their copies? http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/jim-james-album-eternally-even.595522/page-4 -

The website says it's an autographed sleeve - so just the vinyl itself arrived, and the sleeve will be coming later? Seems weird.
