  1. Waiting for official word to order, but excited to at least see a sign that this is happening. Also, her website says she's doing BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge today... they usually have artists do a cover, right? I'm curious to see/hear what she picks. EDIT: Looks like it already happened. She did "Riptide" (and Shake It Off). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGT8xnmhNn8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0c7J5gmJf4
  2. I had also assumed the tease about cool packages meant vinyl... but if Second Three Years never got pressed (which I hadn't realized) then I don't think this will, which sucks. Still holding out hope.
  3. Perfect... though I wish it was Shameless. maybe someday.
  4. Wish they had stayed on Fools Gold, but I guess that doesn't make a difference in the music. Excited to see if the follow-up can live up to the debut.
  5. He's in Odd Future (Tyler The Creator's crew)... I actually like his music, but disagree with what he's saying. I also re-listened to the single this morning and don't hate it as much as before. I'm okay with it being overly poppy and catchy (I actually really like the instrumentals/horns/etc), based on the WANGBT theory. I definitely wasn't on board with that song, but Red as a whole made up for it. My main issue is the crappy/lazy lyricism. The idea/theme of the song is fine, but the whole "haters" and "players" garbage and that awful spoken/rap/cheer bridge are really really bad and ultimately still ruin the song for me.
  6. When she played it the first time, I hated it... I listened again when she debuted the video and hated it slightly less. The rap/talk part toward the end makes me cringe. The song as a whole is catchy but I'm not into it. Ugh. The album artwork is pretty sick, though.
  7. I think I'd go Gax5 > GF > TWMS > KTM > GCT > Trans I know that will be unpopular because people really love the Kill The Moonlight (and GCT too) but I didn't really start listening to them until the Ga/Gimme period and when I go back and listen to the KTM and GCT I honestly find them a little boring. Good... just not my favorites.
  8. I find that very interesting, because I don't think this album sounds very different from their other stuff... I think it's definitely better than Transference and a couple of the older ones, but it still sounds like the same band. Weird that you'd love this and not at least like their older material.
  9. The band (or really just Brian) sounds more interested/motivated on this album compared to Handwritten, which was a little too stale/formulaic/predictable and it felt like the band knew it. That alone makes me want to like this more... but I am having trouble with it.
  10. Yeah... the live stuff will almost sound like new material. Though I agree that as a general rule there should be at least 2 albums before a live album.
  11. I think she'd sell a milli in online sales alone, if she were to drop the whole thing Monday... But I don't think it'll happen. It would be cool if it was a quick turnaround, though... like anything under a month. Realistically, it will probably be October/November.
  12. Do we think it will be the album announcement AND a new single? I feel like holding a big Yahoo live stream thing without actually debuting any new music would be a letdown. What happened at the Red one?
  13. apparently they did for this one. i didnt see it or grab it (didn't look for it) but just saw it listed on the Methane site, along with a Lorde poster for the same festival... http://methanestudios.com/category/posters?item=6746
  14. Right... I hadn't even really thought about it being related to a single rather than the album. That makes sense, too. I'm ready.
  15. So what's the deal with this... www.instagram.com/p/rSJfxLDvH4/ First clue about the new album is the obvious assumption... but is it the number of songs, or day of release, or what? If it's a date then you think it would likely be a Tuesday, and the next Tuesday the 18th is November. Seems reasonable...??
  16. I've only listened twice so far... Don't hate it but definitely don't love it. It's a little bit all over the place. There are just too many songs that don't leave an impression... they're decent songs, but nothing special. And unfortunately the songs I remember are the ones that were bad. I think it'll grow on me a little, but will probably still end up being my least favorite album of theirs. Oh well.
  17. Does he generally have his own posters at festival shows, too? I'm eeing him at Osheaga in Montreal this weekend... I'd probably still go with a festival poster over just Jack's, but depending on how cool it looks I could be convinced to get both.
  18. Stay Vicious is probably my least favorite of the three, which is a bad sign. I like but don't love Get Hurt, and Rollin and Tumblin is decent, I'd say this new song is in the "decent" category too. Just really not living up to what I had hoped for... but I'm still optimistic. Can't really judge until I hear the whole thing.
  19. Before clicking play, I read this and thought it was serious. Was really confused for the first 30 seconds or so.
  20. Which is why it's so awesome that out of 31 songs in that setlist, only 8 of them are from his solo stuff.
  21. It's tough to say... compared to most rap that's come out this year (and the last few years) it's a solid album. But it's Common, so it's always going to get compared back to his old stuff, and it just doesn't hold up like Be or LWFC or Resurrection. I agree that "Rewind That" is the best track, for sure.
  22. Yikes... I'll wait for details before even thinking about spending that much.
  23. Most of the albums that they already pressed (Channel Orange, Born Sinner, etc) seem to still be available on vinyl-digital... I think there just won't be any new ones.
  24. Really hoping this is his return to the top... Working with No ID on the whole thing was a good first step.
