I prefer Flipside to UHF. I live in the Royal Oak area, closest to Flipside, so admittedly it's the one I have been to most. I know that they had a hook up for a while that would sell them used vinyl that they could end up selling to people like me for more expensive prices. I bought Straylight Run's "The Needles The Space" and a first press of Underoath's "They're Only Chasing Safety". They also got a bunch of old Bright Eyes presses around that time from the guy as well. I haven't found anything too cool in there in recent trips, but I definitely recommend them. They don't just sell records, either. You can get cheap DVD's, older videogames, action figures... it's just a store that sells collectible items I guess. Makes it unique from UHF. I think UHF has a larger selection, however. I don't know how much "rare" anything either of the stores have. Alternatively, you could always hit up my house and buy super rare cool recordzzz!!11

So, I wasn't sure if I should have put this in here or in the VC fantasy hockey league thread, but I have been in a 12 team contract based keeper league for the past 2 years, and there have been a couple of teams that we have just been unable to find a stable manager for the entire time pretty much. Is there anyone that is seriously interested in doing a fantasy hockey league that involves keepers, minor league drafts, free agency, etc.? I know this place has a ton of hockey fans, and maybe not everyone could get into the VC league, or just wants another league to play in. The team we need to fill has Tavares, E. Staal, Skinner, Rick Nash, Pietrangelo, Suter, as well as prospects like Draisatl and one of Mcdavid or Eichel (I cannot remember which). Send me a message if you have interest, we really need to fill this spot. Also, if this is inappropriate to post in this forum, just let me know and I will delete it, or whatever. I just need to find another guy for the league soon and I don't know where to go to find a good owner for a team!

seriously. letlive. is phenomenal. I don't think the feature makes that song *better*, but I also cannot for the life of me understand why people seem to hate it so much. It sounds fine. It is a little bit unnecessary, but it definitely doesn't sound bad at all to me.

So happy I checked this website today. I definitely did not want to have to worry about buying it at the show, and then who knows where to store it / what if it sells out by my date, etc.

I cannot stop listening to this album. They did a great job, so happy I went for the blue copy.

If the price is solid I'll definitely grab this. I'm more of a How To Start a Fire fan though, so I hope that one is repressed. I would pay more for that album for sure. That first song they released for Penny Black was so good, but I never connected with the rest of the album.

Contacted the seller, and honestly VC people are the greatest people to deal with in the entire vinyl spectrum for the most part. We are both going to work together to figure out whatever we can do to fix this issue. Shitty Rambo made a great point, and I think we will ultimately be screwed in some way as a result of the shipping issue. It was shipped from California to Michigan, so it wouldn't surprise me if it did have some sort of issues with heat somewhere along the line. It's just unfortunate that without insurance we may be unable to hold USPS accountable in this situation. Sucks that the record is not automatically insured.

This is literally everything I needed to know, and once again, I truly appreciate you and everyone else helping me out in this situation. I have contacted the seller, and we will see what that seller says. You guys are great here. It's still so bizarre to me that it was literally only the red portion of the record that was damaged.

I appreciate the input a ton everyone - and no, I have not contacted the seller yet, but I absolutely will do it. I just wanted to get kind of a general consensus on here first to see what people thought I should/could do about the issue. As much as I like to think I know about this hobby after collecting and listening to vinyl for a while, there's still things for me to learn about, and a part of that is just my "options" as a buyer when situations like this come up with online purchases.

I mean, I could potentially file a paypal claim saying that the item is damaged, but I just don't know if this is a USPS issue or a personal issue on the other member's end. I have never, ever filed a paypal claim on anyone, so I don't even know if that is a viable option in this specific situation, and if it is possible that I would win the paypal claim - I do not want to screw this guy over on a record he paid for and sold me at a fair price when it's entirely possible that this wasn't his fault. Hence why I'm coming to VC with the issue, haha. I have been a member here since 2012, I believe, and I have never run into an actual issue before, let alone an issue like this!
