My guess is the Clear was the tour edition (US)

We know you received the milky clear with green splatter vinyl variant of the Deflector 7" rather than the green with white splatter vinyl that was for sale in the online store. These two variants got mixed up by the distributor when they were shipped to us and the incorrect variant was shipped to you. We're very sorry this happened but the milky clear variant is limited to only 300 copies while the green with white splatter variant is limited to 500 copies so we hope you're happy with the more limited variant for this release.
If you'd like a replacement jacket without a UPC sticker on it please contact us at [email protected] and we'll get that out to you as soon as we get them in.
The green vinyl w/ white splatter will now be available at upcoming tour dates if you'd still like to get a copy of that variant as well.

Just opened this and I think this is the coolest variant of any record I own.  The changing colors thing is more of an iridescence or oil slick (not black smoke).  Either way, I've never seen anything like it.

Do you have data on these numbers? I started collecting in 2012 and have logged the prices of every single piece in my collection. Prices have definitely gone up.

I'm not sure you know what entitled means.  When you purchase something, you're not being entitled for wanting to receive that item in a reasonable time frame.  They were obviously chill enough to wait it out.
 
The point about the book being hard to read is valid, but it's art and I think that the OP appreciates it in that sense.  As far as it being unnecessary baggage, well, yeah... Buy the standard edition.
 
But still, don't gotta be so mean about it.
