  1. I liked Hardcore Will Never Die a lot. The band went in an interesting direction and I thought they did it very well. Mogwai + kraut rock = good album. The photo set they used for that album is incredible too. I can't remember the artists name, but there are more shots on his website. I'd say 2013 is a fantastic year for new albums already (and there are a handful of albums that haven't even been released that should add to it), but a new Mogwai album would be icing on the cake. If not, it would be a killer way to start off 2014.
  2. Nice, I'm happy for you! Post some photos when you get it!
  3. I think I enjoyed tonight's episode more than the previous one, but I thought they were both funny. The gang ransacking the hotel room cracked me up for some reason.
  4. That's where I'm at. I like riding in the rain quite a bit actually. Sucks having to bring spare clothes though.
  5. I didn't even realize that was Dave Navarro! I guess I had no idea what he looked like. This show has been real up or down for me quality wise since season 2, but last night's episode started the season off right. I love how interspersed the kid was up until the end. It seems like an unusual style choice for the show, but it worked really well. I know Sutter likes to push the envelope on things, but I really didn't expect a school shooting. I love that more Deadwood cast is ending up in the show too. Maggie Siff isn't doing it for me with that hair do though, might be my biggest complaint.
  6. That Sundowning print is gorgeous. I have a feeling that it'll be long gone before I can swing the $150 for it.
  7. Seeing them on Monday, planning to pick up the album if they have it with them. Hoping for clear, but I'll take black too.
  8. US Amazon Prime free shipping doesn't apply to orders you make on orders you make on Amazon.de (or other international Amazon sites). It came to slightly under $30 shipped from Amazon.de.
  9. Watched the trailer a while back, I'm super excited to see this.
  10. I guess no one has actually made a claim of Quinn being smart, I guess I just answered my own question.
  11. I think they're two separate albums and would rank them separately, it's entirely up to you though. Unloved and Weeded Out isn't an album technically, but I don't see any reason why that can't be ranked as a favorite.
  12. Just hope that she doesn't want you to re-watch it with her!
  13. Nice! Seeing them next Thursday, I'll make sure to bring some money for the 7". What other vinyl did they have with them and how was the pricing?
  14. Did anyone here dig Like Rats? Not all of the covers hooked me, but most of them did. Young Girls, I Killed Mommy, Silly Girl and I Got You Babe were all incredible. I'd love if that got a pressing sometime in the future.
  15. I'd throw in You Fail Me too, I love everything about that album. Especially the cover art.
  16. Love Dino Jr. and dig half the bands these guys are from. I'll have to give it a listen, but I'm interested. They picked an unexpected album to cover too.
  17. I went through 3 160gb classics (hd failures on all of them, all within 6 months of owning the device) and gave up. Loved them, but I got tired of replacing them. I'm weary about what Apple's 'big new thing' is going to be. Fingerprint scanner and colors do absolutely nothing for me, faster processor and better camera are a given for any new phone. I've been a solid supporter of iOS since the beginning, but I haven't been impressed in a while. On the other side of things, Android does nothing for me either (and I've been a dedicated Linux user for over a decade, so I was hoping it would). I want mobile Ubuntu to take off, it's the most exciting thing I've seen on a mobile device in a while.
  18. Don't forget that Jesu album, which thankfully Robotic Empire is releasing sometime soon. I hope you're wrong too, but I am just as sceptical. The fact that Perils had a release month gave me hope, the fact that it was three months ago with no further news took away that hope. I wish Caldo Verde would just license their titles to a (very) reputable label for vinyl pressings.
  19. Easily my go to. The emails every day are a little too convenient sometimes though.
  20. I'm starting to question if Dexter was ever really that good or if it was just junk food TV that I failed to recognize. Last night's episode wasn't that in the scope of the season, but it still wasn't good. Nothing fucking happened except for the last five minutes. My thoughts overall are A : The happy ending for Dexter and Hannah ending seems lazy and is an easy way out. Why can't they have Dexter get caught or killed? That's interesting and at this point completely unexpected, but I highly doubt it'll happen. We're getting the Disney ending on this and when you know that happens, it takes away most of the suspense or surprise. B : The Vogel story arc that plagues this whole season is asinine and she is obnoxious and unlikeable as a character. Her presumably dead 'serial killer' son being the villain seems like a soap opera twist, surprised it wasn't her presumable dead evil twin sister. C : Why on earth would Quinn dump Jaime for Deb? Jaime is way hotter and 100% less annoying. D : The fact that Dexter wants to visit Cody and Astor before he takes off his really funny. Those two got written out of the story as soon as was possible, why even bring up their existence at this point? E : I'm happy this show is ending now and not being drug out any longer. There were a couple fun seasons, but the idea has been taken much farther than it really should have. Also, where does Dexter get the photos for the kill room? The DMV? I might be a little hard on this show and I do realize it's only a TV show and I should probably just shut my brain off. I just feel like the quality has taken such a dramatic plummet since the early seasons that this show isn't going out gracefully (like Breaking Bad or Friday Night Lights), it's a horse that needs to be put down.
  21. I'm guessing we'll see Perils in 2014 and this will get a vinyl release in 2016 or later...
  22. I finally finished Sin City. I spread it out over the course of about a year and enjoyed the hell out of it. Now I need to sit down with the movie again.
