Kyle Mooney is fucking hilarious. I'm not entirely sure how well he'll mesh with the show, but I hope it works out.

It took four months, but I just finished The West Wing. The quality took a bit of a dip after Sorkin left, but I really enjoyed all 7 seasons. There's a lot to get through, but I think it's well worth the investment. Highly recommended.

NOW! from DW: MODERN LIFE IS WAR - Fever Hunting

If you're a 15 year old kid, it might be punk as fuck. It's just a really poor decision for a 31 year old. -
The white supremacists showing up, even after Walt called them off, wasn't too surprising. I didn't expect Walt to end up in jail. I have a feeling Hank and Jesse's life is going to hang in Walt's hands come the next episode. Pretty sure Gomez is fucked. Hank's dying would put the case against Walt to bed completely. Marie would be the only one who knew what was going on. Hanks' death could possibly put some heat on Walt, but it would still be Marie's word against his (and most likely not lead anywhere). Of course, the Nazi's are sloppy, so who knows how they could possibly bungle this too. No matter what happens, I wonder what kind of debt Walt will be in to the Nazi's after all this. The whole episode was nerve racking.

What books are you reading?
radiatorhums replied to beneathbelow's topic in Everything Else Message Board
I read that last month, it was an extremely fun read. It'd recommend it to anyone who grew up in or enjoys 80s culture. I'm reading the 4th Harry Potter book, missed out on them completely and now I'm slowly playing catch up. -
Scott Pilgrim Vs The World Repress?

Watch the movie and read the comics, both worth the time. -
They also started putting their 2xLP releases in gatefolds, which wasn't the case up until a few years ago. I know what doesn't justify all of the extra cost, but at least there is some noticeable reason. On the plus side, Temp Res still has some of the cheapest shipping around too. But yeah, I get what you're saying. Definitely a noticeable jump!

The Original Cassette Collective Thread

Pitchfork has a pretty detailed article that looks at a fair amount of contemporary cassette labels, worth a read. : http://pitchfork.com/features/articles/9213-cassette-labels/ -
Anybody homebrew your own beer?
radiatorhums replied to videogamesandvinyl's topic in Everything Else Message Board
Making sure to rinse my bottles after I drink them helps a lot, that way I only need to sanitize them on bottle day. Another trick is to put your bottles on an open dishwasher door while you fill them, you can just shut it when you're done. No floor cleanup. I say you go for the keezer! I've read it isn't too difficult to make the conversion. -
Brand New - TDAGARIM repress in 11/4

Decided to take a change on the German Amazon, no harm no matter what happens. I also apparently know the Amazon checkout process well enough that I didn't need it translated, guess I order more from them than I thought I did. -
Anybody homebrew your own beer?
radiatorhums replied to videogamesandvinyl's topic in Everything Else Message Board
I mostly do 22oz bottles that I've saved over the past couple years. These days it takes me about 1.5 hours to bottle a 5 gallon batch (including clean up and sanitation), which I don't think is terrible. I mainly like the idea of pouring my beer into a corny keg and calling it good. Plus, having three or four batches on tap sounds really appealing to me. -

I wish I did. I'm in a small studio apartment that is nearing critical capacity, I have equipment stashed all over the place. I think I'm going to be able to squeeze in a mini-freezer for fermentation, but that's about it. I really wish I had room for a keg freezer, I'm tired of bottling. -

The records are to soundtrack your brew day, the hobbies go hand in hand! Sadly, it also takes up a decent amount of space like recording recollecting too. -

If you're asking about Amazon, they don't charge until they ship. -

Forgot to mention Craiglist is a good place to look too. I see good starter kits that have been used once or twice on there pretty regularly. -
I will watch this at home with beer and possibly a Rifftrax. Those things will make it tolerable. I wish I could veto the black suit.

PO: Neko Case - "The Worse Things Get..."
radiatorhums replied to yancey47's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Just listened to it and I thought she fared very well with the three of them. The different readings of the album name was real amusing. I've been through the album three times and I like it a lot more than Middle Cyclone. Calling Cards and Nearly Midnight, Honolulu really stand out for me. -
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia [Season 8]
radiatorhums replied to adamlikesmusic's topic in Everything Else Message Board
I think season 5 was the last season I thought this show was good. It's been in a very steady decline and last night's episode seemed to continue that trend. I did find the ending to be amusing and enjoyed Dennis's (possibly meta) comments about how 'people find this funny?' Other than that, I didn't like the episode at all. That being said, I think most shows should stop after 4 or 5 seasons anyway. No matter how funny, clever or good an idea is, it can only be taken so far. I might have also become a curmudgeonly only man in regard to TV shows too. -
I will be keeping my eyeballs on the Xiu Xiu and Deerhoof test presses, thanks for the heads up!
