If you're buying a VIP membership just for this sale, it probably isn't worth it. Stuff went fast last year and if looks like it's going to be even worse this time around.
That being said, the VIP program is pretty cool in general. This is just one perk.

I don't know, maybe this is a controversial stance, but I somehow feel different about handing money directly to an artist or label, and in this case Newbury Comics is the de facto label.
 
They went to the trouble of licensing the release, having it pressed, and distributing it; it's not really the same as giving money to some guy who bought one and is reselling it on eBay.

Looks cool, I'll probably just wait for it to be $300 on eBay though.

The new cart system holds your item in your cart once you hit Checkout on the cart page. So when you add to cart, it still shows the amount of products that are available, but when you try to checkout, you see that they are all in the process of being checked out by other customers. That's how the new shopify system works.
 
If someone decide they don't want it and stop checking out, then that one will become available to checkout again.
So don't stop until you see that they are no more available to add to cart.

I ended up picking up Mastodon's "Remission" 2LP and Baroness' "Yellow & Green" 2LP for $27 shipped.  The Oxblood Red Ltd Edition of "Remission" was on sale for $25.  If I hadn't been tapped out from the CC Music sale earlier this week & trying to maximize my purchases, I could have definitely done more damage.

I think it's kind of interesting. I mean, even if someone thinks it's gimmicky, they should give the music a chance - it's not like if something is gimmicky it has to be bad.

How come people who collect certain stuff are always shocked at the prices and lengths that people who collect other stuff are willing to go to?

I know this is touched on in some of the other topics posted here about shoddy packaging but I was specifically wondering where people draw the line for the amount of damage they're willing to accept when they order something in the mail.
 
I feel like I'm on the more liberal end of the spectrum and as long as the record itself isn't broken or cracked and there's not some horrible gash or rip on the sleeve, I can deal with pretty severe corner dings, seam splits, etc.
 
What amount of damage will prompt you to contact the label/store/band and what do you usually ask for? A refund, replacement, future credit?
 
Just something I've always been curious about how other collectors think...

Damn 20pounds! nevermind lol! I'll just buy this like 10 years time when vinyl is no longer desirable
