  1. Not sure if this is the correct place to ask, but as someone who's never listened to Underoath before, can you guys recommend a place to start? Say at a live show, how far back in their catalog do they dig? Only Chasing Safety is an album I've heard of time and time again, but see they have 3 albums before that, from 99, 00 and 02. Are those first three worth getting into for a casual fan, or do I really only need to start with 04's They're Only Chasing Safety?
  2. I too, was thinking similarly. I think this song is one of the band's most popular, and being as the version they always play live is entirely different than the LP, it only made sense for them to release it. I think it would have been better as an anniversary standalone single of sorts (or included as an Ixnay anniversary rerelease?), but I think from the business perspective of the band, it's wiser to put it on a full length. It'll give the broad audience who would give that song the attention, an increased chance they'll also check out (and purchase) the other 11 tracks. Though this theory may be much less relevant in the day and age of streaming... When you were buying a tape, CD or record for one song, you were buying the whole thing like it or not, so it makes more sense in that aspect. But it's my guess that the idea still applied.
  3. I did a search on the site, didn't see that anybody posted about this, so just in case anyone wasn't aware. All 5 full length LPs in "alternate colors", it looks like the covers are all alternate colors, as well. Pretty damn expensive at $200 (+$19 shipping within the U.S.) equating to about $44 per record. Also comes with a ticket to the TPAS livestream which takes place April 23rd, 2021. 1,000 pressed, doesn't ship until October. https://thebarricade.live/products/wcar-vip-vinyl-box-set
  4. https://sharptonerecords.co/products/we-came-as-romans-cold-like-war-repressing-black-gold-swirl I realize this post was quite a while ago by now, but just in case you didn't see this.
  5. The greatest and only Fall Out Boy album. Light that smoke! Yeah, one for, giving up on me! ...........And one just 'cause they'll kill you sooner than my expectations.
  6. What does everybody else think of the song they wrote called F.Y.M. about stimulus checks? Kinda fun listening to that one dreaming of what I'll be doing with my next one. Kind of thoughtful for them I thought, to write a song for/about us during such a time. I've only heard the first half of the album so far, and I'm liking it better than Bad Vibrations, anyways. By a lot. Not sure what it was, but Bad Vibrations fell completely flat for me. Even the single Paranoia, the best song on the album, is mediocre at best. And I really liked Common Courtesy a lot. Probably an unpopular opinion but CC I think front to back was my favorite release by ADTR. Anyways, the first half of the album is all over the map. Some slow poppy singalongs, mixed in with some heavy stuff, I do like the opening track Brick Wall a lot. But so far the album is fairly catchy and has some replay value, something Bad Vibrations lacked.
  7. Nice! Glad I snagged one last minute. Also just bought tickets to their shows in California in October. GA pits are again available (at only $180 per. /s) Better than paying a scalper more though, I guess. That is, if it's not too early to be speaking on live events... Lord knows these shows will probably get canceled.
  8. No one likes Cruising California!! lol I love that jam. In the right scenario. Summertime at the beach or a BBQ, or summer nighttime drives with the old school subs rockin' the bass in the trunk. Come on. How can all their other pop jams get love but pure hate for that one. Anyways, clearly Let The Bad Times Roll is their lead straight pop song. Come Out And Play, Pretty Fly, Original Prankster, Hit That, Cruising California, most albums have one. It's been a recipe for massive success, why wouldn't they. And with that said, I like the song, it's fun. I do dislike that their other more actual punk songs get buried in the back & never get any play live, but. What can we do. It's the way the world works, they're gonna play their most played songs on iTunes and Spotify. I'd much rather see Pretty Fly get axed from the setlist in favor of The Meaning Of Life. But it ain't gonna happen. Love them or hate 'em, they've been doing this since Smash in 94, do you really expect them to release some kind of underground punk rock record now? I grew up in the early to mid 90's in the Dre & Snoop era, and mostly only listened to rap & hip-hop, but the Smash album changed all that for me when I eventually discovered it in about 1995. So I'll always have a special place for The Offspring. Probably my favorite band if I were forced to choose just one. From my era, at least.
  9. You're giving humans too much credit if you were thinking anything otherwise. No but seriously, ok what's goin on now? I was out of town for a week, just getting caught up here. When are these going on sale? What did I miss?
  10. Or both, if they really want to live by their message & practice what they are preaching...
  11. Also thought both bands did a great job. I had no hesitation pulling the trigger on the stream or the split to support all involved.
  12. Sounds like they're trying to be environmentally friendly. Which goes along with the theme/message of at least some of their music, specifically on this new EP. Doesn't seem like such a bad thing, aye?
  13. Plus the NFG Christmas show had some glorious moments. Their Home Alone skit had me lmao. And anybody who missed Every Time I Die's Christmas "Telethon"...my God...if those guys ever want to, they can get a gig writing comedy, I swear. So funny and so good. Those types of shows I wouldn't mind being here to stay. Just side entertainment streams. But yeah, the live show thing. I'll still keep buying tickets in hopes to keep all these bands afloat & just keep hoping live music returns sooner than later.
  14. Fucking great looking out, man! Appreciate this post. Hell, I appreciated just the fact that someone posted Within The Ruins, I was going to chime in just to say that. Been a fan every since way back when Creature was new. Just some shinfo, but they have a new singer on this album. If anyone else has been a fan for a while or seen them live, any opinion on Steve? I think he's filled in great, and is a perfect fit for the band. I haven't listened to this new one much yet, but gotdamn do they have the best instrumentals. Eighty Sixed and the 5th install of Ataxia are both killer.
  15. I miss this band. I was lucky enough to catch them live in Dallas, jeez was that (approximately) one year ago? Or two now. Either way, I miss them, and miss live shows. Their stream was great, but these streams are starting to lose their luster. Not that live streams were ever supposed to be a replacement for a live experience... And this is not specific to TSL's stream, just in general. Getting sick of sitting on the couch to watch shows... Soz, end short rant, before it becomes a long rant. The Direction stream sounded excellent and I can't wait for the next two.
  16. Certainly hoping so! I kind of slept on that press, figuring 1,000 would last longer than it did, and due to them saying they'd press more based on demand. I would think selling out within an hour or whatever it was, qualifies as such?
  17. Also been investigating this. Unless I'm missing something, I've seen $15.99 for CD, and $53.99 vinyl are the best prices. A few places. Lord help me for endorsing anything corporate, but with a Target card you can get 5% off that price there.
  18. Great first post. I like it. I like this entire conversation. I love how greatly the specific album opinions vary yet we all agree strongly that ETID fucking rules. I need to learn Last Night In Town... I know Crocodiles a bit, but the rest, I do not. I got on the bandwagon circa 03, and it's not often I go back in time and learn earlier work of a band. I do, don't get me wrong, there are a couple exceptions. But from when I jump on board or discover and on, is what I know best. And honestly, I think I need to learn Ex Lives as well, as I also agree it's been my least favorite. Bimbos is a smash hit, and one of their most fun live, but beyond that, not much caught on with me. Also to V3xed, New Junk sneaky great...front to back, no filler, bonus tracks Gotdamn Kids & Buffalo 666...For The Record...The Sweet Life is one of my favorite ETID songs all-time. Contends for 2nd place (with Gutter) for 2nd best for me.
  19. Ugh, you guys are killin' me! Jk, my brothas. But I swear, at least spin Hot Damn! 10-20 more times and you'll see the light. Read through the lyric book as you listen. It's a hardcore/metalcore/metal, whatever the hell this genre is, masterpiece. I too, am over livestreams. I was the minute they started being the only option. I'll still buy & watch every one that a band I follow puts on though, to support these cats during the Great Corona Depression. But sitting on the couch during my favorite bands' performances...blegh. This sounds as if it'll be something a little bit different, though. But we'll see.
  20. Starting with Ex Lives? Where were you before then? Didn't they, or someone, state in an interview that they had no plans to drop the album until touring resumes? Either way I hope to see each and every one of you there when it does. That Tid The Christmas 2019 night 1 was one of my favorite shows I've ever been to. I'd never been to Buffalo, NY before. They had complementary ice skating, amongst all kinds of other activities. A laundry list of dope openers. Pizza. The anticipation of a sold-out 6,000 capacity room waiting for the headliners to come on while a burning log was projected on the white curtain, playing Christmas music. Very special indeed. Not to mention, when they came out and fireworks went off, the curtain dropped, and the first thing we hear is "TO MY MISTRESS, THE BRIDGE", I nearly started crying. In that brief moment, I reflect back to where my ETID journey began back in 2003, when 2 friends, one of which has since died from a heroin OD, emphasized that you NEED to get into this band. Only after about my 10th listen to Hot Damn! did I finally understand. But it all came full circle. Anyways, this is supposed to be about vinyl records, right? Sorry about that. Album #9, put me down, and here's to hoping for 9 more.
  21. New estimated delivery date: Monday, December 14, 2020 - Sunday, January 17, 2021
  22. lol Sorry...I meant that as sarcasm, since that's what Brotha Lynch was calling them.
  23. I haven't caught on with a whole lot of anything released post-Common Courtesy. The song Paranoia was kinda fun. But, I'll purchase for the same reasons, heavily influenced by how good of a live band they are.
