They get my vote for shittiest band and album to come out of the 90s. Can't believe people actually liked this shit. They even played it on rock radio. That song ants marching makes me want beat the fuck out of the person playing it!

I think most of the butthurt is from the superfans who wanted to frame this and put it up on the wall.

Not sure what people are complaining about. The red splatter vinyl looks fantastic... Maybe not like the mock-up, but very cool regardless.
The white splatter could've been done better (probably should've made it blue splatter so the records match the artwork) but still, these are #firstworldproblems.

More importantly, the vinyl is MILES better than the CD. We're talking audiophile 90s vinyl (which rarely happens), right up there with the 45 RPM reissue of August & Everything After. Goes to show what an AAA transfer plus Chris Bellman will do for your record. Wish more bands would care this much about sound quality.

The splatter sounds perfect.  Lots of space.  Dead quiet.

Presumably folks here are going to be more aware of how rarely splatter vinyl looks like a graphics company's mock-up (note in the Amazon pic there are several tracks shown on the playing surface of the red vinyl, lol) than the mess of whiners that's broken out over at the antsmarching.org site, but just in case here are some pics of the splatter vinyl.

I'm sure it's probably not gonna happen, but I'd love for DMB to let Lillywhite do a mix and a master of the unfinished Lillywhite sessions and have them put them out. I know it's missing a bunch of parts and final lyrics, but they may as well capitalize on something that people have but would still buy if officially put out.

Louder Than Love should have been 2LP also with SIDE A running over 27 mins...looking forward to finding out more about Down on the Upside tho, such a great album I'd love to have a well done vinyl in my collection.

I have no doubt Bullmoose will carry Crash, but for reasons which will become clear once the full announcement is made (which surely must be any day now) I would jump on the Amazon pre-order...you have until July 15th to cancel so it's really going to be a win-win.

Can't go into specifics but it's worth pre-ordering, not just because you have until July 15th to cancel but once the listing is fully updated I expect more people will wish they'd got in on this price if it's gone up by the time the listing is fully descriptive.

I bet they repress that 96 crash shirt (Flower/Camera logo on the back, Crash title on the breast pocket).

Acoustic Sounds have put their listing back up, updated probably verbatim from the Sony Legacy press release which should be any day now, confirms gatefold - http://store.acousticsounds.com/d/115293/Dave_Matthews_Band-Crash-180_Gram_Vinyl_Record

Every RSD I hope we'll hear the Bernie cut of AEnima for Classic will be released by Tool.
No friggin' way I can afford $400+ for a test pressing, but have thought about it a few times! My Classic cuts of Zeppelin and Peter Gabriel are so good.

I was just about to order this album but decided to have a look here as it was surprisingly cheap. Won't order it now.

When I first saw DMB it was May of 1998 best time of my life it was a nice small venue a couple years after that when I saw them it was in stadiums still awesome tho. The one show Bela fleck and the flecktones played a few songs during the set they did a 32 minute version of #41. Mindblowing!

Another impossibly vague vinyl announcement by a major artist. Pearl Jam care more about offering vinyl than the execution of it.

What's the source material? Where is it being pressed? Is this the first time No Code is being specifically mastered for vinyl in which case the original is the CD cut to vinyl, or is this the first time No Code is being specifically mastered for vinyl by Bob Ludwig? Again, impossibly vague.

How do they reissue Ten and not realize that 28 minutes for SIDE A is far too long? Vs. was WB@NRP and that was pressed at URP, pretty soundly panned.

There hasn't been a single title in the Pearl Jam vinyl reissue series that has mentioned the source material, not once.

How does Pearl Jam, the band who released Vitalogy in 1995 with a two week exclusive vinyl window get vinyl so wrong while Dave Matthews Band, who didn't even do a single widescale vinyl release until 2009, are doing vinyl so right (Crash has been cut all analogue from the original stereo master tape by Chris Bellman @ Bernie Grundman Mastering and pressed at MPO)

Hopefully in a few years a specialty label like MFSL, Analogue Productions, ORG Music, Audio Fidelity, etc., may license these for AAA vinyl and analogue > DSD SACD Hybrid releases. AF licensed the 1/2" 30ips analogue master tapes for RATM's debut for a direct to DSD Hybrid SACD release coming out June 17th, mastered by Steve Hoffman, and so there is a whimper of hope that these incredible Pearl Jam albums, coming under the same label umbrella, may some day get the treatment they deserve.

If anyone wants to retire their original pressings, I'll buy them off you for the cost of the new pressings.

From Bullmoose (I'm pretty bummed that this is all going to be on just 2 LPs)

This release features unheard demos from Pearl Jam and Mudhoney and rarities from Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell’s 1992 EP, Poncier (including an early version of Soundgarden’s hit “Spoonman”), and 11 total previously unreleased tracks  It also includes a never-before-released cues from the film’s score by Cornell and Paul Westerberg of The Replacements This deluxe edition of Singles features the premiere release of “Touch Me I’m Dick,” performed in the film by Citizen Dick (Matt Dillon with Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament and Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam) We don't know what's on disc 1 yet. I'm only involved in the vinyl releases and can speak about those with 100% certainty, but I am pretty sure we're getting bonus tracks on the digital packages. It was 10 days between Elusive Disc listing UTTAD and DMB posting the full details, so hopefully we'll know in a similar time frame. I know how good the vinyl sounds, now I'm champing at the bit to see what else is coming.

Also to the best of my knowledge BTCS will be done the same (AAA) and thus if you haven't bought one of the '98 STERLING releases, I'd consider that now a mission worth shelving. The remaster will blow it away.

Test pressings can't indicate what source material they were cut from, but the sleeves and deadwax indicate MPO and CB's initials are in the deadwax.

Indeed this one was cut from the original analogue master tape, it is really wonderful to hear Carter's amazing hi-hat and cymbal work throughout this album without the copious amounts of clipping found on the CD.

How many records are released with all that fuckin' info included? I don't know or really give that big of a shit where most of my records were pressed. And it doesn't seem to matter much unless your boner depends on a Chris Bellman cut.
