I've been twice to events in San Francisco - first one (the Fugees)  seemed like people were there specifically for the event, second time (Gorillaz) seems like it was mainly spillover from happy hour. Both times I won records so I definitely enjoyed it! 

Has anyone here ever been to VMP's The Spins event? It sounds like fun and I'm planning on going next week.

It's OK. 

That's the typical Radiohead way (which is why the very brief TKOL was so confusing and why many believed there'd be a follow up). Like how when they were recording KID A they had enough material to release Amnesiac soon after.
 
The OKC b-sides as an album is more solid than Amnesiac IMO.

This is a high-demand release, I'm sure these record stores aren't trying to "f" you over intentionally. We're all just trying our best here.

10" seem to be the underdog format. A lot of people seem to hate them for unknown reasons. Idk. I'm a fan, clearly. My 10" collection, all highly recommended

If you think it is bullshit just don't buy from them.    They are pretty up front about it and they are a pretty awesome record store.  I have gotten records cancelled due to them being out Of stock at places that tie Both physical and online inventory.  This time of year it really doesn't matter.

I mean, cranberries are red. So I can see how it works. 

Got all sorted out by VMP now. They cancelled my Crate sub and refunded me and I'm all set with the 1-month sub.  Most excellent. 

It's not a RSD "no returns" policy, just FYI.  None (or precious few) of the distros accept back any vinyl, never have.  If they allowed returns on vinyl, they would kill the market, as Best Buy & Walmart would be all over it.  It would get really ugly.   
 
Edited to add... stores who overbuy and are left with worthless stock - and we've done it - have only themselves to blame for not being better in tune with their customers' needs.

Thats awesome! Shit, I used to go to amoeba at midnight but if I can get to 1234 that late in the morning it sure would make the day easier. Plus they open at 8am instead of the bull 10-11 time changing amoeba line. People are cool in the line to chat with which was the only reason I would get there so damn early. Plus you know at that time I had TO HAVE MY CAKE BOX SET! ;-D

Not sure what you mean by numbering system, they just let people in as they were in line (minus the first person in line who got a 5 minute head start)

Did anyone see the Star Wars record player at the Valencia location? I don't want to call them because I figured they are busy but don't want to make the trek down since it's the only thing I want this year.
