Two girls, ages 2 and 5. Never baby proofed anything with my records. Told them both to leave them alone from an early age. I listen to a lot of records with them, and I make it clear that only I can touch the records. Occasionally as a special treat they can pull one out. And I let my 5 year old drop the needle sometimes. If you get them involved and set clear boundaries, they won't fuck up you shit. And if they do, they're just kids and it's just stuff.

The things you're saying are true. It was obviously an extreme comparison. But the point is still that if I'm buying something that's new, it should be in new condition. 99% of the records I get in the mail don't have corner dings. I would feel confident saying that 100% of corner dings either happen before the record gets shipped or because the record was poorly packed. If you do a halfway decent job of packing a record, it's not going to get dinged. These things really aren't that delicate. Hell, one of my kids dropped one of my records on the ceramic tile in the bathroom. Landed right on the corner. There was no corner ding.

If I'm buying something that's new, I expect it to be in new condition. Would you be pissed if the car dealership gave you a brand new car with a ding on the door and expected you to pay full price? Why should you care? The ding doesn't affect the driving at all!

You're crazy! In my experience, most bands are boring live if you aren't familiar with their music.

Definitely worth it for that price. You must see Sigur Ros. Unless you don't like their music, of course. Sigur Ros on this past tour was ten times better than Radiohead on the King of Limbs tour.

I don't think Deviations is limited to any certain number. I think they are just taking orders and then will do a one-time pressing. So it will be limited in that way.

I had no problem unzipping my Deviations download using WinRAR. I haven't received downloads for The Fragile or Broken yet.

I listened to my copy of Year Zero today, and holy crap does it sound fantastic. I don't see how Trent can improve on the original pressing, but I'm looking forward to finding out if he can.

The site is using a standard WordPress plugin called Maintenance Mode. I've used that plugin before when sites I was working on were getting ready to launch a new site or something like that. The plugin gives you the option to throw in a timer. They have the timer disabled. There's no way to tell from the source code when the timer will be activated and when it is set to end. At this point, they simply aren't using it. Basically, there's nothing to see here at the moment.

Really bummed it isn't the full album (as in volumes 1 + 2), but I'm definitely in for this. One of my favorite albums of the past 20 years.

New single is only okay, but I have to get this to keep my Elbow vinyl collection complete.
