  1. So out of the blue my order showed up today. It was also the tour variant /1000. Really bummed out about it, but also not sure what to do about it. I might give them a call and see what they say, because that's a pretty blatant con if they advertised the /300 and just sent everyone the tour variant.
  2. Ugh, this is not what I wanted to hear. I haven't even gotten a shipping notification for this yet, though. I assume you got rush shipping (and you ordered on Monday)?
  3. This is really good. One of very few post-rock/post-metal releases that have caught my attention recently. Double vinyl from EU at ~$28ppd not too bad either. FFO: Ashbringer, Braveyoung, Light Bearer https://ingrina.bandcamp.com/album/etter-lys

  5. I mean, after seeing the track times, that maybe they should've split this into a 2xLP. A 47 minute album means that a single LP averages 23 minutes and change per side, and several record manufacturers explicitly refuse to cut a side longer than 20 min because the sound quality starts falling off sharply once you exceed it. There are exceptions, but that's a general rule.
  6. I don't regret not getting in on the group buy, but this album is phenomenal, mostly due to the awesomeness of the last four tracks. The first half kinda drags, in my opinion - this is definitely a band with a sound that works better with longer songs. Very curious to hear about the sound quality considering this album is ~47 minutes.
  7. I listened to most of this yesterday, and loved what I heard. Obviously gonna need a few more plays to digest but first impressions were very positive.
  8. I actually like the cover a lot. Very excited for this!
  9. Not sure how many people have already seen this, but I Hear Sirens is pressing their S/T EP for its 10th anniversary. One of the most solid post-rock bands ever in my opinion - for some reason they just never made it big. Hopefully this means that we'll see a press of Beyond the Sea... before too long. https://www.whiskeyandwaxrecords.com/store/*PRE-ORDER*-I-Hear-Sirens-EP-10th-Anniversary-Edition-p104993959
  10. I listened to it once through the other day. I thought it was more of the same, maybe a step down from IV, but still extremely engaging and worthy of standing up to earlier material. I'm surprised you don't like IV! In the back of my mind I always pegged you and I as having very similar tastes, but I think IV is probably their best, along with II.
  11. I may have said this on the New Topographics thread but I'll say it again: I think that record has aged better than almost any other post-rock album in recent memory. Sure, there were songs like "The Dreams..." that I knew were gonna be personal classics from the first listen-through, but almost every other track has gotten better and better every time I've gone back to the album. Such a bummer that the pressing quality was so bad - my black copy is almost unlistenable.
  12. Beat me to it! Very, very excited for this. Definitely one of my most anticipated of the year.
  13. Gravity and Grace was also tops for me in 2016. First single from this was epic, didn't hear the second one yet but I'll probably just wait for the whole thing at this point.
  14. Just finished my first listen through and yeah, this album jams. Favorite is probably "Heaven's Gate" but there really aren't any weak songs, except maybe the title track.
  15. Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure that S/T is a new album. The Moment of Collapse newsletter said about a month ago that there was a new album coming out soon, but no other info. I don't want to start a thread and then be wrong, though, so we'll see...
