aju2streets got a reaction from mmhmm in Taylor Swift - 1989 2xLP
Not complaining about a great sounding 2xLP, especially at the price, but I really wish they would have included extras like colored vinyl (like the color on her sweater on the cover) or polaroids.

I know nothing about this dude or album but I hate Poly sleeves. Fuck those things.

The 7" has been pushed back again. It supposedly is still coming but we don't have a firm release date yet. One assumes that it will be timed to help promote the album. Sorry we don't know more at this time.

Turntables without plinths are weird to me. I tend to anchor my pinky on the plinth when I lower the needle onto a record, I suppose one would get used to doing it without that support but I think my hands are too shaky for that.

The series has been great, loved the LA one especially the stuff with Kyuss and Joe Walsh. My mind still hasn't changed on the record itself though.

Why do people need new Foo Fighters when the S/T is all the Dave Grohl necessary to get by in life?
Edit: this was me more being hyped about how goo S/T is and how it holds up.

Y'all should be absolutely embarrassed that you spent that much money on 2 hours for some time in 2015. I love TS as much as the next guy, trust me, I do --- but you could feed a needy family for the entire month of December for those prices. She's insane for having ticket prices that high but people are just as bad for buying them. $400 for a ticket? That covers my whole concert expenses for a year. Sheesh. I would be totally disrespecting myself if I dropped that. I'll take my $15 vinyl and watch her on TV or something. Ready for this tour to be over!
But when all is said and done, she rocks and the album is gold. Just bitching cuz I'm poor. Carry on!

I spent $20 to see one of my favorite bands last week. They played 22 songs.

Totally. If I had to give a "bottom line" on this record, it's that too much time and effort were spent getting the HBO series right with not enough care and attention given to the music and lyrics.

I liked the scene in one of the recent episodes (*spoilers*) when Dave and Co. were struggling with the arrangement of the song. A glorious light poured through the window and an almost spiritual "ah-ha" moment hit Dave... he thought to himself, "I know how I"ll arrange this song... I'll arrange it like I do ALL my other Foo Fighter songs." .. and he did.
seattle covers at my shop. If anyone needs one let me know.

If that's true, then you have terrible taste.
While taste is largely subjective, if your favorite Foo Fighters album is not either Foo Fighters, The Colour and the Shape or There is Nothing Left to Lose, then you are just objectively wrong.

This album is pretty mediocre to me. I know Dave supposedly put together this 'round the country recording schedule to shake up their writing process and get a fresh sound, but Sonic Highways feels like they showed up at the studio in each city and slapped together some straightforward, albeit slightly-more-jammy-than-usual-to-fill-time-because-there's-only-eight-tracks-on-the-record instrumentals, then finished the tracking with some weak lyrics that Dave hurriedly lifted from the interviews they did for the show. Congregation is basically Times Like These with different lyrics. In The Clear is basically Congregation with different lyrics. And we all know that Times Like These is just Learn To Fly with different lyrics. Yawn.
