chiefwahoo reacted to mclz in Some Red Scare vinyl gems being sold...
Most underrated RS release would have to be the 21CPPR LP. I remember selling it not long after came out and regretting it. It took me probably another 2 or 3 years to track down another copy.

Agreed. I'm shocked so many people are willing to pay (especially this much) for a bootleg of the CD. -

Buying a bootleg sourced from a cd or less for $70 is legit one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Hold out for the repress or just listen to the mp3s. These things will only drop in value.

I've heard an unfolded paper clip is an effective replacement.

All of The Fray's LP's have been pressed and are pretty easy to get copies of except for "How To Save A Life" which is out of print and goes for a pretty penny. I don't know of any pressings on The Script.
My recommendation is to check amazon.com, discogs.com or ebay for copies.

Still struggling to find a copy of Hot Water Music's Caution. I'll get that white whale some day!

Do people not understand the literary reference behind the term "white whale?" Ahab couldn't find Moby Dick. It's not that the whale was always around, but too expensive to capture. READ A BOOK.

The Bronx(1) Test Press. I've got the second and fourth self titled tests, but dying for that 1st album test. It changed the way I listened to, thought about and played music forever.

^ Again, people just don't get what a White Whale is. There are currently 10 copies of that RA record on ebay and almost 30 in the complete auction listing with most ending under $50.

No
Nope. Not even close
Yep.
I have two hard to acquire records in my sig. As much as I want them, I don't even consider them white whales. If I wanted to drop $260 on one of them, and $150 for another they could have be mine at one point. Siren Song would end up on ebay every so often, but just went for a lot of money. Coffee Zombie said End Measured Mile. There are three on discos for $20 plus shipping. So no.
Plus there a boatload of the Euro pressing available. You could own several hundred: http://distro.shieldrecordings.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=35&product_id=206
Hell you could even own a test press! http://distro.shieldrecordings.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=35&product_id=618
