An issue with the 7"s has been brought to my attention that indicates they were cut from digital. That is a shame unto itself, and it is a shame that the problem wasn't found at any part of the production line. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Makes you think if anyone actually listened to this thing before OR after they mastered it. In the 2010's, test pressings are seemingly only meant for giveaways and special sales. Not actual, you know, quality control.

I'm not opposed to flipping, but let's all call this like it is:
 
1. Hot new release that sold out quickly? Check.
2. Lots of people missed out on it? Check.
3. It's up for sale before most people even get their copies in the mail? Check.
4. It will sell for a massively inflated amount - well above retail + shipping/fees? Check.
 
You could be splitting the profit with me and I would still call it flipping.

I hope you make some good dough, though. Weddings are expensive.

Interested to know what happened between the order and now that made the additional copies unnecessary... 
 
Other things you could do as well: 
-Give anything over the cost to Randy to pay for his wedding.  
-Sell at cost to fans who weren't able to buy because you were hoarding them.

I'm surprised more people on this board aren't into GBV. Maybe if they release a super limited reissue on tri-color haze limited to 100, they will get more exposure. I dig  "Under the Bushes, Under the Stars".

You will not be able to find some great GBV on vinyl, like Bee Thousand and Kid Marine, but Under the Bushes and Alien Lanes have been reissued and are about $20 each.  My favorite side project is by far Boston Spaceships with three releases including the delicious "Planets are Blasted", currently on amazon for under $13 with Autorip.

On the "for sale" front, I not only have the 3 LP's above new, sealed and available but have about 40 other Pollard, GBV, Boston Spaceships, etc. sealed LP's sitting in a bin waiting for the right buyer.  My first purge about 5 years ago got rid of the very rare LP releases.   Never got an original Propeller but kept the Briefcase 2 Test Press in a safe place.   Good luck.  contact [email protected]  
 
Lastly.  Saw a great GBV show at Middle East Downstairs in 2004 (?) with Detroit's Slumber Party opening.  Funniest memory is of my friend, who had never heard of the band or seen Pollard's on stage activity, say that Robert would probably be a good punter in the NFL.   We both laughed when I told him RP was a pretty good pitcher in school.  

Why would you want to exclude live and acoustic tracks? Isn't that the main draw for the boxset...

Well that doesn't really help me does it. I meant I looked in the normal outlets (dead format,discogs) and couldn't find anything. People are so rude on here sometimes for no particular reason

He worded that in the sense that there's no way to police a first time buyer from flipping it on eBay. Which there really is, no way to police that.

That's the only mistake. The A sides of those two albums are switched.

Got my copy of Astronaut yesterday. It's in beautiful NM shape with the shrink on it and everything. And if it was manually flattened, you'd never know it. It looks like I bought it brand new myself and just opened it. He was talking about them having flaws so maybe I just got lucky.
