  1. The originals sounded awful. I grabbed one of the last silver copies from SRC since I didn't want to be on pins and needles waiting for a chance to get the gold at a non-ridiculous price. I am excited for this! I've enjoyed the sound quality with all of the MOV releases I have. Heck, even the bootleg sounded better than the original. Also very stoked on the idea a remix of the album being released by the band themselves on vinyl. Would jump on that in a heartbeat. Lastly out of curiosity I emailed MOV as to what source material they used since there was an original master for the CD release and a remaster done for the silver picture discs. They responded by saying they used a high res transfer of the original masters...didn't really answer my question but we'll see how it turns out haha.
  2. Same here! Those guys rock. And for people asking what this will look like: I'd be willing to bet it will be the same as MOV's gold pressing of Faith No More's Album of the Year (which sounds fantastic).
  3. My wallet hates you but I thank you! Such a good deal. As for the new album...gonna have to wait until I can get it from somewhere that isn't Sumerian haha.
  4. Sad but true on the latter. I am convinced that the issue here is with Columbia/Sony. Let's think about it: SSTB had a decent number pressed a few years back (due for a repress) and both Afterman records are readily available but yet IKSSE:3 only saw one run upon release. Every Coheed record released on Columbia has either never been put to wax or is harder to find by the day. But what about IKSSE:3? Well, though it was originally put on via Equal Vision the record was "upstreamed" (aka bought out) by Sony once the band started making it big. I'm sure if Sony didn't have their grubby fingers on that album we would have seen a repress ages ago..definitely by the time the 10 year anniversary hit. So long story short: apparently Sony is either allergic to money (which I doubt) or they're just oblivious to the demand of both IKSSE:3 and Good Apollo Vol. I on vinyl. No wonder the music industry is falling apart.
  5. Update on this: Got my replacement copy from Matt and it's in nearly perfect shape! Very happy and major props to the guy for being cool and making things right. Now to write him an incredibly nice email..
  6. I am in love with everything about this release! I know this will easily be one of favorite records for years to come. Never heard of the band Ours before but that dude's voice blew me away.
  7. My lady and I visited Love Garden in Lawrence the other day and found one of these. The record does pop a lot but other than that it sounds okay enough for a boot. Our jacket was pretty beat up as well. Gotta love the pixelated booty on the back cover, the random pictures they used for the labels, and the certificate of authenticity haha.
  8. They're a great band full of honest, hard-working and talented guys who have been consistently putting out strong records and touring their asses off since they started. I understand if it's not your style but any time I hear people bashing this band it just confuses me. Don't let crappy fans or stuff you read on the internet stop you from giving the music a good chance. But regardless, love both Circa Survive and SDRE and I could not be more excited for this!
  9. It was Astronaut. Matt emailed me back and was concerned more than anything because he's had zero issues since he started selling these. I sent my copy back and am getting a replacement. Stinks that there will be one less copy of this out there but I wouldn't let anyone spin the one I had given the state it was in.
  10. I have to ask, did anyone else get one of these from the most recent run and it showed up ruined? My copy has what looks a layer of hardened plastic goo melted into the grooves on both the A and B side. There's no way this could have happened during shipping. It's very similar to the issues that many people (myself included) had with Glassjaw's Worship and Tribute where there was severe outgassing due to the plastic used in the packaging being in direct contact w/ the record. If it's like the Glassjaw album I know there is no way to fix it. I understand Matt stated these albums are being sold "as is" and aren't in perfect shape but he did say that each record was inspected. How could this go unchecked? I spent my money to support the guy and to have a great album to listen to. Not to have a worthless piece of plastic. It's so bad my needle can't go past the first three seconds of the album and no I do not have a Crosley. Sorry if I sound a little peeved but I am. I'm going to go ahead and email Earth Analog and hopefully be able to work something out but I wanted to see if I was alone in this.
  11. Comfort is still available here: http://store.acousticsounds.com/d/75732/Failure-Comfort-Vinyl_Record and on a few other online shops. Last time I checked eBay/Discogs there were listings for Magnified at around $30-40.
  12. http://r.ebay.com/9o8qoS I don't give a hoot about The Black Keys but man is that design pretty!
  13. I'm a newer member here but I'm a big fan of Circa/Psychic Babble so you can put my name in. Like everyone else said, this is super awesome of you!
  14. Bought this on impulse and listened to the download on my run afterward. No regrets! These guys are amazing and the guest appearances are perfect.
  15. I know copies of this are getting harder to come by but for anyone on the fence about this I will say that I recommend this boot. I've listened to a copy of the original before and I've got to say that this sounds better all throughout. Only issues with my copy are some persistent surface pops on the A side (only noticeable during the interludes) and the sound at the end of side D seemed a bit squashed. Side C had some scuffs from shipping but it actually seemed to be the most quiet side. The source is definitely digital but regardless whoever handled this put some TLC into it all. That being said, the sound doesn't seem as dynamic as I'd like it to be but it's certainly satisfactory. Until we get a proper reissue that isn't on a weird picture disc or MOV/MoFi presses this (a man can dream!) this is the best we've got. My 2 or 3 cents.
  16. I can't believe nobody else is flipping out about this! You guys are missing out. Easily one of the best bands around today.
  17. 16 left. Nabbed a copy! Rise is my favorite record label right now.
