this gold MOV press looks and feels like the definitive edition. sound quality is fantastic.

I think Michael Keaton wins out for me in the end. The bale era is no doubt important, but the whole grungy reboot with the batvoice got tiring by the end of the series.

they should bring back the classic tim burton / animated series theme. easily the most iconic and in my opinion, the definitive batman theme

picked up both soundtracks and absolutely love them. looks great and sounds great as well. the fact that you guys are lamenting that some hypothetical "awesome" record of 300 copies that won't get pressed because hot topic is pressing Disney records that the large majority of the general population is interested in is ridiculous. the market for vinyl is a lot larger than the VC community.

yeah. I'm beginning to think that this is going to sell out within a minute. This is the highest profile release mondo has ever done. It's the first one to break through in terms of mass appeal (Drive, despite it's greatness, is still somewhat a niche movie). Those 1000 copies are gonna go quick - especially for a soundtrack that millions of people have owned and enjoyed

with how fast certain waxwork records sell out for, I'd be shocked if it lasted more than 5 minutes. along with server drops, etc. this is Jurassic park, not Rosemary's baby

the pink panther on pink vinyl is probably my favorite release. the sound quality is excellent.

the fact is vinyl is surging in interest and there's way more interest in people getting back into it and trying to find their favorite albums. look at what happened in 2014 alone, it's the biggest RSD ever, mew frengers, Deloused, all these in demand albums are getting represses, normal releases like beck is selling out, etc. There's a big market that's only growing and there are the same or less amount of record pressing plants out there as there were in the late 90s when vinyl was pronounced dead. I agree that prices are rising and ridiculous, but people are paying it. At the end of the day this is going to probably have a pressing between 2000-5000 copies for a Grammy award winning, uniformly excellent soundtrack that introduces some very in demand songs to the vinyl format for the first time, as well as the first time this album has been available on LP. For an album that has likely sold millions in CD format. This is not some obscure 80s horror movie soundtrack that we happily pay 30-35 dollars for. Look at how expensive the original pressings of the Almost famous, high fidelity, lost in translation soundtracks go for these days. I pre ordered it as soon as it went up.

if they sell the exact same set for 69.99 one month later there's going to be a lot of disgruntled fans.

pre ordered without even reading the thread. even though there's been a garden state backlash there's no arguing that this is a classic soundtrack that should have been on vinyl in the first place. didn't this win an academy award?

spinning the blue glow in the dark paranorman and it is fantastic. it definitely has that glow in the dark surface noise, but it somehow manages to work thematically with the music.

hogwild records in San Antonio has at least 3 copies of far cry 3 sdtrk. I don't know if they ship though. try calling?

I've heard all kinds of rumors, from the May 20th release being digital only, to the new box set not being on 180gram vinyl, to it being no different than the RSD release at all. With all the reports of it being an incredible set, figured better be safe than sorry. My local shop received one randomly this week and I snagged it. Haven't spun it yet, but the set looks incredibly impressive.
