Hairy Potter reacted to ntslash in WHY DO PEOPLE CARE ABOUT CORNER DINGS?!?
If I'm buying something that's new, I expect it to be in new condition. Would you be pissed if the car dealership gave you a brand new car with a ding on the door and expected you to pay full price? Why should you care? The ding doesn't affect the driving at all!

They take away my opportunity to ding them myself when I'm in my cups and drop it.

Hairy Potter got a reaction from BlinkandPanic in Blink 182 splatter vinyl series Hot Topic exclusive (update posted Jan '15)
I bought a new copy of Enema of the State to replace the edited previous pressing (well played, Hot Topic ). Do any super-specific-variant-collectors here have interest in buying the old copy from me?

Hairy Potter reacted to allenh in Upgrade suggestions
Tight on time today so I won't go into as much detail as usual
Speedbox yes, speed stability is the upside there not just the ability to change speed easily and is much much more important.
Not sure about the Ortofon red? Then don't bother with the blue try something else, AT maybe?
Less bass when using an acrylic platter? Utter bollocks, the platter isn't the issue there unless it's massively changing the VTA in which case it's the wrong platter for the turntable or the cartridge used is extremely sensitive to small VTA changes which I find very unlikely. Basically everything being equal there are no downsides to an acrylic platter.

Hairy Potter reacted to dantheriver in Good Charlotte - The Young and The Hopeless - Black Variant
I see what you did there!
OP, using discogs I've learned that the first shitty pressing of this in 2014 on black and some other color were a gatefold with an insert, the second shittier pressing from 2016 was not gatefold and had no insert.

The lineup is awesome. Well worth the $120 for me. Shipping is free and includes a $10 e-gift card.

Hairy Potter got a reaction from dantheriver in Hot Rod Circuit - Sorry About Tomorrow
I hope Alkaline Trio's Good Mourning and Crimson is in there too. Oh and Dashboard! I'd do disgusting things for a pressing of Places You Have Come to Fear the Most.

Honestly never thought I would get to this point with Saves The Day, since I assumed I would never own I'm Sorry, I'm Leaving; but a local store recently got a copy and I recently sold my second copy of a white Through Being Cool for nearly as much as they were asking for it. So it just made sense.
LP's:
Can't Slow Down - 2nd press., red (500)
Through Being Cool - 2nd press, white (500) & original Black (3rd press /?)
Stay What You Are - 2nd pressing, black (?) & 3rd pressing grey-mix (?)
In Reverie - 1st press, black (?)
Sound The Alarm - 1st pressing, red and white (70) & 1st pressing, blue and white (70)
Under The Boards - 1st pressing, white and blue (70)
Daybreak - 1st pressing, white (500)
Saves The Day - 2nd pressing, white (1000)
7":
I'm Sorry, I'm Leaving - white (395)
At Your Funeral - black (?)
Freakish - black (?)
Anywhere With You - orange (?) & white (?)
Four Way Tour Split - green (300)
The Tide Of Our Times/Everlasting Everything - 1st press, white (1000)

Hopefully this means some other older Vagrant titles will be pressed/repressed. The music of my youth! Maybe some Dashboard?

My silver arrived today. Spun it almost immediately.
Sounds fantastic and the album is stunning. The other half even enjoyed it and she was not a fan of LP1.
This will be on the TT for a while along with KoL.
