haha yeah that isn't really a valid point. There is always a cost involved, that dependable income is strained by having to support both the parents and the kids expenses. I am looking forward to the vinyl bubble collapse, for the few that will be positioned correctly financially will make out like bandits while the majority are forced to sell at 50% to 75% below current valuations.

i disagree, from a marketplace perspective things are good at the moment, but it doesn't take much to shake it up. Those "buyers" will wax and wane depending on economic conditions. Also the buyers you reference don't have a steady dependable income, a cash reserve put away for emergencies  and self control to follow a budget. I just think it is a bad idea to think you have a nest egg or cash reserve in your record collection that you could cash out if you ever got it position where you needed cash, unless you discount the value of your collection by 50%.

I love how so many people don't understand how liquidity, supply and demand and transactions work when valuing "investments". Especially when it comes to vinyl. Between watching the conversations in Sale/Trade/Wants and general conversations I have had with "collectors" it provides a lot of entertainment. Realistically, with the exception of some, the majority of used records should be valued between $5-$15 maybe $20 if they are brand new. Just because 4 idiots payed an average of $60 for you one off hot topic pop punk band record doesn't mean there is an infinite supply of buyers willing to pay that price. More likely the pool of buyers has dwindled now that those idiots have there hands on it. If you want a record bad enough go ahead and buy it for whatever price you deem worthy, heaven knows I have paid up to get certain things, but just don't expect to find someone to pay that price plus whatever premium you place on it down the road when you need to sell it, unless you are willing to sit on it for a year or two. If you need that cash now well good luck then...

This is what money does to hobbies. Instead of seeing the joy in it people see the financial gain/loss in it. Just enjoy the music/records/art for crying out loud.

Sorry in advance for what might seem like an asshole response, but if you found a working press and have no idea how to use it it might be best to let someone with actual experience work it. The pressing business is clogged as it is and every machine makes a difference, so figuring out what exactly to do with one probably isn't the most efficient use for it.

Because everyone says they got lucky and got it cheaper I should sell it cheaper when clearly they usually go for more? I apologize everyone lol I should just sell them for 10$ to please everyone right?

Totally happened to me too, but I didn't go that far haha.
I actually just finished listening to "Roads to Judah" on vinyl (spinning the new Baulta record now ) and I have Sunbather in my car at the moment.
I know this might sound gay or whatever to those hardened internet collectors here, but Saturday after a long, grueling day of work I was listening to "Dreamhouse" on my ride home. The ride is short, and I got to my driveway about halfway through the song. Turned my car off, and just sat there with "Dreamhouse" finishing at full blast.
The bridge fucking made me cry. It was so bizarre. The emotionality of the music just fucking engulfed me, and I started crying. It was kind of amazing. Not like a bawling emo-sissy thing, but like... kind of what happens when you watch soldier homecoming videos... just a sweet, emotional thing.
This band is so good. I love that they actually use real production on their albums, and not the sampled mechanical sound most metal bands use today. I hate that shit. The drums sound like actual drums played by a person.
These guys are high on my bucket list to see live. Could you imagine a show with like, Deafheaven, Junius, Rosetta, and like, sleepmakeswaves or something?
    drool...

I feel like it'd be a failed business idea of Kramer's (such as the homeless rickshaw).

JERY: So you charge people $24 to borrow $1 worth of records for a month?
    KRAME: Yeeeeeeep
JERY: Then they send back the ones they don't want?
KRAME: You got that right. You know my friend Bob Sacamano? He just moved his mother to a home. Bunch of records, and no space for them. BIGGEST Englebert Humperdink fan there is. Dozens of copies of every album and I didn't have to spend a cent.
JERY: So your customers will send back all of them, and you'll have a constant supply of the same crummy records.
    KRAME: Giddy up!
JERY: It's preposterous. It'll never work. And what are these vibes? Is that a hashtag? Do you even know what a hashtag is?
KRAME: It's for the kids Jerry. Put a pretty sticker on anything and hashtag a few Instagrams and kids go crazy for it.
ELAIN: Are you sure this is legal?
KRAME: ....well I guess I just assumed.

No you are correct. And it really pisses me off that the people who did the funding for this campaign aren't the ones getting the limited vinyl. Even the regular joe vinyl should be limited but it's not. We are the ones that believed in them before hearing anything at all. We are the ones getting fucked over. I for one hate emery now. I want nothing to do with this fucking band.

I have a copy of Brand New - Deja Entendu from RSD that I am looking to trade. I would rather trade it cause I hate supply and demand.
I'm looking for first pressings of Circa Survives first EP / First and sophomore album. Also will automatically choose anybody who will trade for either of Mumford and Sons first 2 EP's
I do have a want list over at discogs.com
