Let's clear the air a little bit since all of a sudden this bullshit is leaking into unrelated threads and it's becoming the cancer killing these boards (I'm speaking for myself so don't put my words in someone else's mouth):

A ) If you think any of us thought that chat was "private" you're a fool. It wasn't so much a question of "if" someone will out it, but of "when". Stop spicing it up as if it were a torrent of hate, it was mostly bullshit rambling, chest hair, and a couple mean things said here or there (nothing necessarily worse than anything that's been posted here). I pulled some of my posts that had personal information I'm sure some of you malicious fucks would try and use against me and also fuck your tattle-tell bullshit. I'll inconvenience your screen shots because I can, tough shit. Those of you who were part of it (FutureKills and abovetheearth to be specific) who are now "coming forward" or whatever are just as bad as the people you're pointing fingers at. You both idly sat around while people poked fun at your "friends" and didn't speak up until Madie outted it here. You'd probably still be sitting around there not defending people otherwise.
 
B ) I made both the jokes that rocked the planet. I will never apologize for making a joke (especially outside of these forums). I seeded the premise of asking people here if they'd be down to hold a fleshlight while another man fucks it. Is it gay? Is it not gay? Finally caught a white whale of mine "Whirr - Sway" Record Release Press, also found #1 out of 25 which is pretty nuts!
 

 

Not defending him or arguing, but I feel it's worth pointing out that's incorrect. He's never pretended these are licensed and has always been straight forward about them not being official records. I've been buying since his fist forum post where he made it perfectly clear what buyers were getting was a "homebrew" effort. Also, since then, he's stated repeatedly that he's super excited to get actual licenses for upcoming records, and what a drag it's been that so many companies have just brushed him off (which is why he started making bootlegs). So yeah, there's that.
He's also let people know that these covers are homages to other albums because, basically, of a "screw it, they're not licensed so I'll do what I want" (my words, not his), mentality That's why I'm super excited for his upcoming licensed titles, as at least one will have previously unseen asset art never before used in print or publicly shown (iirc).
As for being "fakes", sure, they're bootlegs, and I'd LOVE to support licensed records, and I do regularly, but in this case he's getting and trying to get those licenses and not just continuing bootlegging to maximize a buck. He's building up a good reputation for quality and putting out records which otherwise we wouldn't be seeing. And he's not the only one doing that, but he's at least straight forward about it. For instance that unlicensed "rererelease" of Koji Kondo's Super Mario Bros 45 that's basically a clone of the original, that's being passed off as legit, and looks like a licensed product. That's going into a 3rd repressing. That's a lot different, IMO, because at least these are one-off runs nobody is going to mistake as the real deal. I mean you know what you're getting from first sight, which is nice.

Well, looks like this forum has quite a lot of ignorant idiots.  

I found this forum because an image search led me to a really great collage that was the cover art for an experimental cassette released in Portugal.  I'm a little surprised at the amount of douchebaggery and shallow, mouth-breather, dude-bro etiquette.   Honestly, I don't like to walk into someone's house and criticize, but why isn't anyone talking about rare records and why is the "top 10 desert island" list in the "Everything Else" forum?   What the hell is wrong with you guys?  This is about vinyl, right?   I consider myself a serious collector.  I thought I had found a haven for a second, but alas, it's the same morons, different avatars, apparently.  
 
 If you motherfuckers want to drool over Blink 182 reissues, that is fine, but don't come on my thread trying to condescend to me about music.  If you can't read between the lines and see that this is a thread for basically "sharing/showing off your knowledge of rare records" (that you don't own yet for various reasons), with a bit of a "wishful thinking" underpinning, that is your own problem.  I can write at length about any one of the records I listed up there.  Make yourself look stupid all you want.  This isn't the special olympics, and I won't wait for you to catch up.  If you don't have anything nice to say, go to another thread.  We're all stocked up on assholes here.
