the tune from that clip on the project page was really cool yet again! looking forward to new music from this guy as Fruitless Research was absolutely fantastic.

remixed version of the title track up for listening here: not really sure what to say though.. I wasn't a huge fan of the record anyway but found it decent enough. This version sounds even less like the Basement we knew before. Not saying it's bad thing, just not really to my liking I suppose. At least it gets actually cool when the bridge kicks in.

why's that? What did you not like about it? After having listened to both of the new tracks once, I must say that I'm not blown away. Still stoked as fuck for the record, but I'm curious how that will turn out in the context of the whole LP. The two new songs lean much more into traditional indie rock if you ask me. A lot less "slacker" vibe, which is something I love about earlier Mac.

thank you for pointing that out. I must have misunderstood the picture you posted, then. I thought you'd been getting two copies of the records in your shipment, one with the black cover and one with the regular white cover.

I also still haven't got the point about the "regular cover" copies.. There has been no official retail release of this so far, right? (Yes, I did click on those rick-rolling links) So the only copies with the regular cover would be the initial bootleg copies. Or was the Black Friday release repressed with the regular cover for people who didn't get in on the black run?

They might actually be following that aesthetic for future represses. So far, the color combinations for the GoE represses are fitting those for DYTC: 1st b/w, 2nd negative, 3rd red tint.. might as well be coincidence.

my retail copy was standard black, which seems to be the press that BWM is selling as opposed to the pink pressing from SBH

LPs were 20€. In general their merch was very reasonably priced: shirts (Gildan) 12€, longsleeves (Gildan) 15€, totes 5€, pins 3€.

saw them play in Groningen, NL yesterday night. Getting home at 5 in the morning after a total of 6hrs driving was definitely worth it though! According to their drummer it was their first time playing the new songs live, and it was probably my second favorite show this year (after Julien Baker). They even had the European pre-order pressing /100 with them at the merch table, 80 of which had been allocated for the pre-order with the rest being held back for sale on this tour. If I'm not mistaken all remaining copies of that pressing were sold yesterday, but they should still have the white variant. Anyway if you are living halfway close to any place they are playing, go!
