Mikizee reacted to fish in Tool Vinyl BUYING GUIDE (Original/Boots, etc.)
for those looking

I really don't understand any of what they have been doing. They don't press nearly enough deluxe cds for the demand, or have any vinyl ready when the demand for it is huge. And now they are doing a 1 day only preorder for 2nd pressing? They had 13 years to figure this all out. Seems like someone dropped the ball on this.

The RTI test pressing is the test pressing I own. I have never opened it so cannot vouch for how good it sounds. I have chatted with one of the other owners who have opened theirs, and they said it sounds really good. My regular pressing is a little beat up and needs a decent clean as well. So I just listen to the FLACs if I want to listen to the album.
Discogs says there are currently 8 owners of the RTI test pressing, however the general opinion of myself, the other owners and the person at the pressing plant is that there are only 5. I think some people who own the later 200g test pressing have mistakenly tagged themselves on the RTI listing instead.

I'm lukewarm on the song, but am interested in hearing the full album to understand it in context. I just have to accept that this is what Tool sounds like post-Aenima. Sometimes it feels like their music is being written by AI... I just wish they would feed some songs from Undertow into the machine.

Pre-order on a website actually did go up early today. It's sold out, but at least you can see what you get in the bundle

I'll be very interested to see what kind of vinyl packages they'll do with this new album. I managed to get a signed copy of Lateralus from Toolarmy back in the day, maybe they will do something similar. Although these days I don't have the time to sit online and refresh and refresh until the second they go on sale. I remember the copies of signed Lateralus sold out in less than 60 seconds.
Then the record never arrived... I launched an investigation with the post office. The post office offered to pay for a replacement, bit tough with that record though! Simply not available. A couple of months later, Australia Post searched the mailman's house and found rooms and rooms of undelivered parcels. He got in a LOT of trouble. And I got my record!

They don’t ship internationally so they block every country other than the US.

Will order right now. Thanks! I was actually on Hindley St today. It's fine during the day but a fucking circus at night and to be avoided at all costs. Unless you're drunk, 19, and love fights.

Both my VC copy and Fishbum Records lathe cut have arrived now. No listing on Discogs for the Fishbum lathe cut. Maybe I'll make one when I have some spare time.

The issue is, I switched off my adblocker and I STILL got the pop up and couldn't use the site. Even after removing the Chrome extension completely. I also have a VPN extension, but that wasn't even switched on. Still couldn't access the site. I had to remove the VPN extension completely before I was able to access the site. A polite request not to use an adblocker is fine, but you're crippling the entire site for me.

There's pretty much every format you can think of for this including the lathe cut on old laser discs, CD's, cassettes and every colour of vinyl imaginable but I haven't seen any open reel copies so I've decided to do my own limited to 1 copy and delivered it to my only customer (me) yesterday. I'm going to drag out my Akai 8 track recorder next and do a copy on that just for the fun of it. Gotta find a nice colour laser printer now for the artwork.

Yep these things will keep coming in the post for months I reckon
That dilemma lasted roughly 3 to 4 seconds for me.

It will be fixed by this evening, I will message you and @phramenma

Mikizee got a reaction from OneThreeOneTwo in PO: Beastie Boys - To the 5 Boroughs, Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, and The In Sound From Way Out
I was cataloging my entire beastie boys collection on Discogs a few months ago, and I was stunned to discover that it wasn’t the old records, the 80s rarities, that were worth the most, but TT5B and Hot Sauce. Couldn’t believe it.

Well the Flightless limited pressing of Sketches of Brunswick East sold out in 20 mins.... I hope I'm online at the right time to grab a good copy.

Mikizee got a reaction from My Big 12" in Tool Vinyl BUYING GUIDE (Original/Boots, etc.)
Hi all, found this thread after googling about Tool vinyl.
I have a sealed test pressing of Aenima, the 2nd press. It came with with back and front cover sleeve, and two white cardoboard sleeves that contain the pressings. Funnily enough the white cardboard sleeves don't fit inside the cover - they're too big.
Here's some photos - the last photo is of the centre label of another test pressing I tracked down, as mine is still sealed.
I purchased the pressing off ebay seller themusic24 in around 2004ish.
