Doesn't like the way discogs displays pressing info (what's wrong with it, btw?)... so comes up with an insanely labor intensive 'solution requiring a lifetime and a small army.
Positivity is a good thing, but so is reality. Friends like these are the type that let their friends go onto, for example, American Idol when the person is actually tone deaf. When they get there they're caught off guard and totally dumbfounded by the judges responses... "But my friends said I could sing!"

Manufacturing costs have remained relatively the same over the past decade, save for the cost of inflation and also being dependent on how the stampers are made.
The rising costs are attributed mostly to labels cashing in on the demand. Why sell it for $8 wholesale and only make a few bucks per unit when you can sell it for $20 wholesale and triple your investment? Then distribution channels take the same mentality and charge $25 bucks so that they get their cut and - at last - retailers mark it up a few more bucks so that they get a profit.
The stores and retailers are at the tail end of this chain and make very little off of each very expensive release. That's why RSD isn't a hugely profitable day for stores. They might see a big dollar sign, but the gross margin is negligible.

A lot of the currently price inflation also falls in other areas....such as damages during shipping now have to be taken into account as every "new to the hobby" kid with a crosley is returning vinyl for corner dings, which means that stores are being pickier and pickier on what they're bringing in, which means distributors are more picky as well. Shipping prices continue to rise while this is happening as well as distros using more packing material to ensure product arrives without corner dings. Additionally the majors got back into the vinyl market and the licensing fees are high on any of their artists which causes the over all price to be higher....because of this, they're kind of setting a precedent on prices and other distros an labels are able to raise their prices knowing that the consumer will pay it because they're buying $35 single LPs sourced digitally of (insert major label pop artist here).....there are so many contributing factors to the arbitrary inflation of prices inside this "bubble"

Very interesting for sure, it could very well be enough to burst the bubble without the trend collapsing. Which to me is the ideal situation, the delays and costs come down, but the saturation remains as is (or even grows!)

The single art is a million times better than the album art.

overall, i like both songs. i think the first track is better. im not too crazy about that thrashy riff in doomed user though - just doesnt seem to fit the rest of the song.

Well it's not my listing, if I had it I wouldn't sell it. That's been in my wish list since I started here, I'm also offering albums to trade for it so that would be pretty dumb.
And posted it here because I have a baby due next month and am not financially able to spring for that album right now so I thought I would try to help someone else out who may be looking for it.
And as much as you guys make fun of me for being a 311 fan, simple things like showing someone a good eBay find that they may have been looking for, is the kind hearted nice gesture most of us 311 fans would do.

Just found the RED edition of the white pony album on eBay, for those that don't know only pressed 1,000 of these and were released with the album release in 2000.

I got a signed album by Kendrick Lamar for cheaper than a freaking indie video game soundtrack. What a time to be alive.

Probably the main reason I log into VC and post.  There aren't many people in my personal life that share the same level of excitement I do about new music releases, and it can be nice to share the hype with similarly-stoked individuals.  I love random album releases and pre-orders, but it's also fun to scope threads like these where updates are imminent.  There's a vague bit of Christmas Eve in the air.

I'm talking about how it's silly that someone can't understand how a bootleg being released before a licensed version of the same record will hurt sales, and subsequently the company that got the license to sell the record.
