  1. By 2014 I would've assumed that most people know how to bid on eBay. 90% of the auctions I watch will receive bids in the last 30 seconds, without fail. I've seen listings go untouched for six days (at $0.99) and then explode in the last minute. But this just reaffirms that there are still people out there who still have very little idea of what they're doing on that site.
  2. Nice, thanks for the update. I think I'm going to hop on that Creation repress until something legitimate is announced. And considering how elusive even the bootlegs can get, it'd probably be feasible to cover all costs of an actual repress by selling it, if that ever came to fruition.
  3. If that was the proper case, though, then they should honor that hiccup and mail their packages priority, or at least contact the buyers to offer a partial refund if they preferred. Pocketing the extra ~$3,200 while whistling and looking the other way is pretty unacceptable. [edit] On my mobile -- Jesse beat me to it. Glad someone else is on the same page I am.
  4. I did plan on using this thread to distribute more giveaways in the very near future, but I really do love the idea of a "pass it on" chain of generosity and good feels, where the winner of each giveaway has to start one of their own, after receiving their prize. Seems like a really cool concept. Do we make another thread or just change the premise of this one?
  5. Just looking out for you homeslice. I've got a copy that I'm content with, and I'd hardly consider myself greedy. I hope you can one day get a solid replacement for your copies.
  6. Don't sweat it. Good on you for looking out for fellow VCers, though.
  7. I typically don't throw a fit over shipping costs that are a little steeper than normal - other than maybe pointing them out on the forums - but this is an instance where I'd be genuinely irked, and would absolutely fight for a partial refund. If they're charging $20 for Media Mail on 200 different customers [minus international orders], you have every right to raise hell.
  8. If your friend backs out and Shlebs wants in on that tour splatter, give him priority. He's a good dude and he technically did post a minute before I did.
  9. Shweet. I won't be holding my breath, but do keep me posted. Really appreciate it.
  10. Looking back on it, I can't really argue with you on that one.
  11. There was no animosity in his post; I think he was merely defending the stability of his site when it was suggested that it could crash. But if he was directing a "backhanded slap" at anyone, it'd probably be at whoever coded Cinder Block's webstore, I imagine.
  12. Thrice's Vheissu actually had my vote - mentally - for the longest time. I was all about Thrice in high-school, and when Vheissu dropped in 2006, it was the first album that really knocked me on my ass. Granted, I was pretty musically naïve at that age, I sort of enjoyed how shocked I was by its unconventional direction. It was a critical album to my musical tastes at that time -- it was the album that taught me that I should never expect a specific sound from any artist, regardless of how much I loved them. It taught me that it's quite okay to not love a record immediately. It showed me the value of repeated, uninterrupted plays. And when it finally clicked, it really clicked. But eight years later, I simply don't enjoy it enough to call it a favorite V album. I skimmed my iTunes... and out of all the V albums I have, this is probably the one I'm most confident in calling a masterpiece. Even if it just dropped last year. TIM HECKER / VIRGINS
  13. The $10 tag surprised me as well, though I'm hardly complaining. Since the entire release fits on side A, I'm sure they treated the price point as they would with an EP.
  14. Last I checked, there was one at Discogs, but it was priced higher than I was willing to go. Still searching for one, myself.
  15. Absolutely not. One of the best labels in the business, for sure. They don't always send a shipment notification, but I've ordered from them countless times and have had no problem whatsoever.
  16. I was glancing at the upcoming letters to get the initiative on albums to consider... and much to my surprise, I think W will be pretty difficult for a few folks.
  17. That's funny, since the only 2003 presses were done through Plain records. Which - according to anyone and everyone who's compared the two - sounds like balls in comparison to the Creation presses. Which are what's being circulated right now.
  18. That is insanity. I wouldn't believe it if you guys hadn't confirmed it. Was it exclusive to Guitar Hero, or did it come with Rock Band? I've accrued more music-rhythm games than I'm comfortable to admit, over the years, but they've all been for the 360. I don't know anyone in person who had GH3 for the PS3, but I remember thinking that Rock Band bundles came with sort of USB adapter for the Playstation.
