  1. True. It sounds like it may be later than sooner, though. I messaged the band themselves last year, asking their advice on whether or not I should cave and buy their albums through eBay or Discogs at less-than-ideal prices. They cryptically suggested that I wait, and avoid anything that was marked up too highly. That got me pretty excited. But Kranky just got back to me about my inquiries. They said that they'd like to repress any OOP SOTL albums at some point, but have no definitive plans to do so at the moment. They also mentioned "one thing at a time...", vague ellipses and all. I know that the band has been writing and recording new material for a while. Maybe we're finally on the cusp of seeing that come to life.
  2. Aren't you the dude with the ex who wanted a copy of this because she liked how the variant looked? And it turns out she didn't even open it? Lolkay. And are you after any copy of Mellon Collie at all? Because the sealed re-issue is up at Amazon for $70. You can probably sell Major/Minor for more than that on eBay. If you're after an OG press, though, you'll probably need two more mint M/Ms.
  3. Too kind, guys. I appreciate the positive feedback for sure. Nice. Very nice. Surprised more people aren't in on this. Dude is giving away a double LP, a single LP, along with various goods... and he's covering the cost of shipping. I updated the entry list but we're still only at 5 participants on this one.
  4. There seem to be a handful of SOTL fans here on the forums. Anyone hear anything of a green press of And Their Refinement of the Decline? I noticed it on Discogs the other day. The listing was added 3 months ago, and can be found here. Excited at the prospect of a colored repress, I hopped around online but found no trail of a repress. One has been hinted at for a while now, but there is zero evidence to suggest that it's happened. So I figured I'd check Popsike. That's where I found this. Looks like it was a BIN that ended for $165 back in October of last year. Could this be an extremely limited promo copy? Or maybe from a press for friends / family press? What about a "band" press /2? I didn't think Kranky even pressed colored vinyl. Talk about a white whale for the ages.
  5. Yeah, it's being used quite a bit lately. On VC and in general, to be fair. .
  6. This is actually a damn fine album. Doesn't get half the recognition it deserves. I don't know if it's my vote, but +1 to you for bringing it to light.
  7. A fellow member found a mint copy at his local record store for $5. Though he ended up selling it for $100 immediately after. Be patient and-or diligent.
  8. Updated guidelines and first post to make this thread a bit more official. I'll be making my own thread for personal giveaways in the future. But for now, I'd like to see how much fun we can have with this thing.
  9. I'm glad to be spreading the love, indirect as it may be. I hope you manage to secure a beige, too. I've got a good feeling about this album.
  10. True enough. That record is way too good to be as limited as it currently is.
  11. That True Widow repress is the only thing I'm currently gunning for.
  12. I'd rather have 27 records that are relevant to my current tastes.
  13. And people wonder why this "hobby" is so fucking goofy.
  14. Okay, now I'm bummed that I didn't have the time or opportunity to fight that checkout process for 50 minutes... But really, good on Cinder Block for making right by their shipping error. I honestly didn't expect them to rectify that.
  15. First press = printed. Second press = sticker. Next.
  16. Assuming that this does in fact see the vinyl treatment, is anyone else relieved that it drops well after RSD has come and gone?
