  1. Both of those variants look so (so) good with that cover. I haven't listened to the album yet... anyone check it out yet?
  2. It's too good not to share. But in a really ironic, cringe-worthy manner. For a while I didn't have the option to play MP3s or CDs in my car, and had to resort to the local radio. That was my first exposure to the band. I knew they were something awful, almost immediately. And my poor dad... he texts me a few months later, and he's like "I know we don't really listen to the same music, but if you're looking for an awesome rock group, you've gotta' check out this Volbeat..."
  3. Nice. And agreed with the Appleseed similarities, in parts. I definitely suggest giving it a devoted listen whenever you can get around to it.
  4. Just received confirmation - I've got a guy who'd be stoked to sell this for $60 PPD. Mint condition. Message me if you're interested and I'll hook you up with his e-mail. He's a great friend of mine that I completely vouch for.
  5. Don't gouge your wallet for this quite yet, Drew. I know I owe you for helping me out in the past. And I think I can line up a sale for you, with a little luck. Probably something in the area of $40 - $60 PPD if you're interested. I'll keep you posted with the specifics after I've hammered out the details.
  6. I think I knew what line you were referring to, but I was unaware that it previously disappeared when you removed your signature. How odd. It's the principle that counts. Good job. At least you're not owing anything, right? That's quite a bit of an age gap. Everyone I've talked with on this subject has a sort of "as long as they're both 18 or older, it's fine" kind of mentality. Which, from a legal standpoint... sure. But I think that certain ages are definitely on different wave lengths. At 22 your sister should be taking bigger risks and focusing on different goals than she would be if she was 30. I'm not saying it can't work, but more often than not those staggered priorities and levels of maturity tend to make a relationship rocky.
  7. Album art looks absolutely killer on this release. It's really complimented by the center label, too.
  8. The line can't be shaken. It's to help us figure out where one post ends and another begins. VC has our best interests in mind.
  9. Pressing info will eventually get posted. But for smaller releases like this, Deathwish usually follows a 300 / 700 / 1,000 setup for their variants. The 300 is almost always limited to 1 copy per customer, too.
  10. Not to rock the boat too hard, but I'll never understand why anyone would judge a band based off their band name, or album / song titles. Yeah, I'm sure there are exceptions -- i.e., it's safe to assume you'll find a lack of profoundly stimulating lyrics from Anal Cunt. But otherwise, I think that it's jumping the gun quite a bit. Do people also judge an album by the quality of it's art (or lack thereof)? Especially when it comes to post-rock, since those bands are known for having some of the goofiest try-hard names in the music business. We already covered This Will Destroy You. Who I thoroughly enjoy - now more than ever, with their direction of sound - but yeah. That name is pretty awful. Other post-rock / post-metal / math-rock that I quite enjoy, despite ridiculous band names; And So I Watch You From Afar. Seriously just awful sounding. Could be a mallcore band's name, as far as I'm concerned. Mogwai. If These Trees Could Talk. Really? You Slut! That exclamation mark is just the cherry on top. Album art is pretty DIY-cheesy, too. Maybeshewill. Maybeshewhat? The list goes on and on, but you get the idea. Just a couple of days ago I was recommended an album by a band called An Autumn For Crippled Children. I quite liked it. But... man. That name. I had no idea what to make of it, going in, and I left it at that. I let their music establish what to think of the band, and allowed it to slice through all presumptions. Which is how it should be. tl;dr: some really good bands pick some really bad names. It happens. If you've made up your mind on a band before even listening to what they bring to the table, that's your own loss and I feel pretty bad for some of the gems you'll miss out on.
  11. Totally understandable. And ironically, Fortress is unarguably my favorite album of theirs. Probably because it was the last record before Rody (unfortunately) took over the lyrics. Oof. But that aside, each track has a sort of charm and memorable flair that I can get into. I can't say the same for anything that follows it. And Volbeat... haha, I'm actually pretty interested to hear what you'd think about them. Radio cheese at its finest.
  12. Just curious, which band is that Aw for? Or both? If it's any consolation, I quite enjoyed PTH a while back, and can still listen to their first couple of albums once a blue moon. The newer stuff makes me cringe, though. But that's just me. Also, my dad really likes Volbeat. That's at least got to count for something, yeah?
  13. I was under the impression it was supposed to be a 6-act project, but that he got burnt out after Act III. Can't say I blame him; it was a pretty ambitious project to set out on. And if he didn't mix things up a bit, we wouldn't have the awesomeness that is The Color Spectrum. As long as he continues to pursue what makes him happy and what he prefers to write, I think everyone will be pretty happy.
  14. No thread; good looking out. That's tremendous news -- I've got a friend or two who've been dying to get their hands on this.
  15. It's one press distributed between DW and KRM, as far as I know. From a shared pool of 1,000 copies.
  16. I always (always) check Discogs or the label's site before inquiring here or anywhere else. Sometimes the info just isn't available.
  17. While I completely agree with this logic as far as determining whether or not to purchase an album, there are a few of us who are unfortunately OCD when it comes to logging their collection. It's not always a necessity, but pressing info sure is nice when it's available.
  18. Haha, Heaven Is Records; fuck off and go outside, m8. Take a breather and swap out your tampon. Not sure what you're doing in this thread to begin with, since you have zero interest in Caspian's music. But all those neg votes are making you feel like a big man, right? Care a little more, dude. And for what it's worth, I only give you a -1 when you go out of your way to post dumb shit. (Granted, that's pretty frequent.) No reason to creep on your posts in threads I don't even frequent, or neg you for complimenting photos / asking relevant questions / thanking users for info. What the hell kind of childhood did you even have?
  19. I am 100% certain that I received no shipping confirmation.
  20. Gotcha'. I totally glazed over the fact this was a PO. Thanks for the info; I'll make it a point to check this thread in a month or so.
