  1. Any ideas for multiple carriers? I have a few different gentlemen who deliver to my house throughout the week. If I could get each of them something individually, I would.
  2. That's fair enough. I'm glad you're enjoying it. I would expect the opposite, really: ATF and AWLWLB seem like they'd treat new listeners better than something like JD. Goes to show you can never assume.
  3. I've heard their main (widely praised) albums, and have read their lyrics. I'm sticking to my guns. Are his lyrics different? Sure. But every "gem" of a lyric that La Dispute fans attempt to cite as a perfect example - like the article Rambo posted above - are just atrocious. Some of Jordan's songs have really cool concepts and stories, but I'd say the majority of his stuff is laughably bad.
  4. Some of their lyrics are so pretentiously horrendous, but the most puzzling element of this band has got to be how rabid their fanbase is. I truthfully don't get it.
  5. Right? I felt the wave of cringes wash over me, in the middle of reading his examples. It's something you'd expect from one of these guys.
  6. If that's not a nod to Gasoline, I don't know what it is.
  7. To recap, for the tl;dr folks: • Some neckbeard thinks that Jordan's lyrics are on par with Plato's philosophies • Same dude also enjoys wooing - and disgracing - girls with his favorite angsty teen lyrics, and insists La Dispute's are perfect for this. (He's not wrong.) • Insists that the band's music is also, allegedly, in a class of its own: listening to La Dispute will redefine everything you thought you knew about enjoying music. And having personally listened to the band, I've got to call bullshit on all fronts.
  8. Nearing -900. I swung by this thread just to ask if anyone's broke into minus four-digit territory before. We could very well be on the brink of VC history, ladies and gentlemen.
  9. Welcome to the club. All snarky and facetious tones aside, I'm compelled to ask you... what took you so long?
  10. You guys weren't lying -- the jacket on this thing is a beast. I foresee the sleeves fighting with the jacket in the near future. May have to address that before it becomes too much of an issue. But the quality of this release is top notch. If you're going to ask ~$30 for an LP, this is what I'd expect.
  11. I wiped my scrobbles clean at the beginning of this year, so my "overall" plays technically just encompasses 2013.
  12. Just wanted to chime in and say that fresh sushi is divine. Hands down my favorite type of restaurant to explore -- I don't think I've ever been disappointed. Anyone who's never tried it or is appalled by the idea of "raw fish" should really consider giving it a shot. (Assuming you're not vegetarian.) It's become my favorite dish in the last two years or so.
  13. It appears that I've missed the part where I instigated anything in this thread, or implied that I condone random vinyl jibber-jabber. And it would also appear that you missed the part where I genuinely participated in the conversation at hand. Carry on.
  14. Zero argument there. Most labels and descriptions specify "coke bottle blue" or "coke bottle green", but I have seen a few "coke bottle clear"s in my day. (All of those have turned out to be of the blue variety, though.) This guy. This guy gets it.
  15. Amen to that. Was that just an off-topic debate or did it receive its own thread?
  16. Just about every Topshelf clear variant I've purchased has been crystal clear. Like a thin wedge of glass. I really dig their approach to clear vinyl; the murky or "tinted" variations are less than desirable.
  17. Yeah, that seemed to work pretty well for lahispute, if I recall.
  18. That dude's gonna' get fucked on at least one of those transactions. Guaranteed.
  19. I know we're razzing kess pretty hard, but I've read his story from start to finish... and if we're being honest, I definitely see how he ended up with two copies. I truly believe he had zero intentions to hoard multiple red copies... but he obviously ended up with more than one. That's hardly a crime, though. Like a lot of folks have said, I just think he should've hooked up Agua (or someone else here at VC) instead of throwing it out on eBay for a profit. I'm sure he could have gotten his money back and then some.
