The last minute and a half of that new single is nuts. It’s probably the most triumphant and bright the band has sounded… like the light at the end of a distorted, black, shrill tunnel. Being the second-to-last track on the record, coupled with the album title, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was their final output. Hopefully I’m wrong! Expecting a DW PO later on in the morning. 🤞

Been way too anxious for a new Loma album. I remember really liking that Continuum track from... 2020? Right before Covid. It was different but really solid. I'm definitely in for a follow-up to Self Portrait.

Oh, and don’t forget edgy packaging bundles for shock value – didn’t these guys release a deluxe edition with a dildo or something? You know you’re staying relevant as a band when your preorder announcement gains more controversy than interest.

I still think they’d be fun to see even if I haven’t had the urge to listen to them in about two decades. The list of shows I’ve seen over the years has a glaring lack of pyro circus antics. I would agree that it’s probably for the best that I never looked into their lyrics or translations.

I have no doubt they would be a blast to see live. I probably wouldn’t pay as much as I suspect their tickets cost, but I would make some kinda’ effort to catch them outside of a festival someday.

AOA is so good. I think finding my appreciation for that record really helped The Ascension to click so easily. I know a lot of folks weren’t thrilled about that one, but it’s great in my books.

I was never super into Rammstein – and especially not in recent years – but I can’t deny that I had this one and Mutter in my iTunes as a kid. Can’t say I feel any urge to own them as an adult but more power to anyone who does. RIP that 2LP pricing though. Spicy.

Did you never hop on that Duster box in the past? (Maybe you had it, sold it, or just never needed it.) It's a quality box for sure. Numero are definitely on a pretty big hot-streak. I don't want to put words in Hooked's mouth, but the way I'm reading their post, it sounds like they'd just be swapping out the black copies for colored ones but keeping them in the boxset packaging, with all the extra bells and whistles. I respect the lunacy there, but it still means you're only offering to snatch up his old black copies from the box once he upgrades them. (I think.)

I’d proceed with caution – not that you have much to lose though. This text wasn’t present last week, but is there now; Any US Orders that somehow make it through will be cancelled and refunded.

Even as a Deftones fan I really think this album is great and gets dumped on unfairly. I binged it when it came out, but still play it once or twice a year consistently.

The only thing I forgot is how bad I want to start a band called Cosmo. Fuck you guys.

Artist name, album title, and record weight are all you need. It’s important to know if something is only 177 grams when it’s advertised as 180.

Happy Hecker release day. New album is pretty easily my favorite thing he’s done since Virgins. It’s pairing perfectly with the dense clouds and rainy weather closing out this week.

I believe it. I keep waiting for a “classic rock awakening” of sorts to happen with me, but the appeal just hasn’t been there yet. I sort of blame my dad trying to imprint his tastes on me until I was probably ~11 or so. The songwriting I can admire, but more often than not it’s the production that teleports me back and turns me off from listening further. Maybe I’ll get over that hill someday.

😂 I'm absolutely dense when it comes to the classics but I'm not even gonna' bother editing that post to save face. The apostrophe had me thinking it was the album Factory by Cosmos. Doesn't change anything though, because I am woefully unfamiliar with CCR so Cosmo's Factory is an equally large mystery to me. I suck. 🤷‍♂️

Good thread idea, I've toyed with the idea of making something very similar a few times in the past. It'd be cool if people try to comment on the post above – for example, I've never heard of Cosmo; forgive the laziness, but what genre would you classify them as? Here's where I would keep the chain going if I had myself one of those light-bulb moments recently. If it counts, Big Ups' Before A Million Universes was the last record I played [earlier this week] where I knew it was good, and that I should be throwing it on more... but it still clicked especially hard. One of those moments where you throw an album on hoping that it'll scratch the itch you've got, and it ends up delivering in spades for the mood you're in. I think that kinda' counts.

Wait, what’s the biggest bummer about these Codeine reissues? The fact you feel compelled to cop them despite owning the box?

I’ve never listened to Boilermaker, but I guess I gotta’ change that. I did see that they’re going to be reissuing material from The American Analog Set, too.

Ah. Gotcha’. Yeah… that’s a pretty big miss and potential headache then, I agree. Not even going to bother trying it because there’s no way they’d honor it. I tried to ask Numero on IG if we’ll have to wait a while or if we can expect POs this week. No response yet.

Can you? I guess it depends on your checkout method, because I tried to add a bunch of both to my cart to peek at quantities and got hit with a “Shipping is not available for your country’s address” error.
