MOV have pressed a number of albums from shitty sources. They are transparent about it though and openly let everyone know they press on the 'best sources they can obtain'. They do an excellent job across the board, but if we are to assume that the 'source' will be the best available MOV may or may not be reliable. I'm thinking MoFi, as a VMP release would cause hell to open.

Trade 2 of em for a clear pressing of Slowdive's new release?

Given one is a new album, and this is just a 20th anniversary pressing, I would of assumed the demand for AMSP would be higher (just guessing...). Won't be surprised if this sees its way to Amazon as well. It's not a 'cheap' pressing... Hope the reason for scarcity on the web is that a ton of indie stores will actually be getting the majority of these to sell.

Grabbed the limited from juno this morning. Very excited for this and glad to hear the positive vibes around it.

I think people need to hold their expectations in check for the garage sale. A lot of the titles that get significantly marked down can be found for similar prices using a discount codes on ccmusic or Amazon warehouse. They also generally have limited stock for most titles so they go quick.

Bingo. I also find I usually get a shipping notice early as an international sub. Most domestic subs will range across a 7-10 day span. Just be patient

Anyone else on the boxset train? While maybe not limited, and overpriced, and potentially can be had for cheaper down the road.... it's a pretty awesome set, right? Someone tell me I'm sane for wanting to spend $200CAD on this to go along with my AMSP one. (This will also help ease my worry of finding a blue variant...)

I'm guessing based on the previous Canadian user mentioned, but moreso making a statement on the Canadian market and how price-hiked things are up here. Everything is an 'import' so new 2xLP's generally go for between 30-40 now. Was just speculating that I suspect this reissue (blue or black) will be upwards of $50 in most Canadian stores... alongside a stark discount on the tons of 2xLP versions of this album still out there.

$50 for a 3xLP set in Canada is about standard, if not slightly underpriced. I expect to see this in Sonic Boom for a 59.99 price tag.

Boxed edition comes out to around $200 CAD.... woof Also, LOL at an indie variant being primarily sold online... or at least perceived to be be 'primarily' sold online.

I think I'll end up going for the boxset. It's a lot, but it saves me from variant hunting a blue edition and I want to ensure I'm net-complete if they are going to keep putting these out for every release. Now I'm trying to figure out if I just order from WASTE or hope they make it to a store, knowing they very well may not.

Curious when the UK stores will throw the cancelled stock back up after all the US fans find better deals stateside.

For those not familiar with that type of twitter behaviour, VMP often does that 'thinking face' for a lot of dream records. Some come true (DD), most are left open ended. So it's mainly a wait and see game... Also, big thumbs up from me on the Methyl Ethel record as well.

As someone else mentioned earlier in the thread, this is exactly what RSD is all about! A bunch of die hard vinyl enthusiasts scrambling around to try and find the records they really want online, while flippers try to sell them for 3x the cost, and local indie stores treat the records like some form of diamond rings behind a counter (only to be put in a bargain bin 2 months later). After reading through the last 20 or so pages, you guys and gals are the true heroes of RSD. Big time bravo to all those trying to help each other out and get people what they want!

Doubling down to say you should be good, yes. They will probably ship your store bought records out at the same time as Fiona (early May). EDIT: Nothing to see here! Forgot swaps were only for multi-month members.

And for the record, I am not a VMP employee or shill. I have been a member there for over 2 years and experienced some highs and lows with them (cough old store openings cough). One thing that has been made clear to me, is that they are not doing this to get rich or scam anyone. They have literally built this thing from the ground up, and with that comes growing pains. So I often give them a bit more slack, as I know their heart is in the right place.

I sincerely don't think they have the staff or infrastructure to support this level of hype. And frankly, I get it, because one month you are doing an expensive variant of Tennis... the next, probably the biggest reissue get so far in 2017. How do you staff or prepare for that? What happens when the next month is a ho-hum release that doesn't garner this hype? I agree there have been miscues (specifically around the site going down), but they generally try to make things right. I feel the volume of shit hitting the fan has been overwhelming. Also, did you upgrade from your member page? Sometimes that can take a business day or so to process.

Get that authentic local feel on RSD where you need to request to see an overpriced picture disc from a grumpy record store employee. Sounds like a riot!
