  1. No doubt, I am pumped for this. I am being nit-picky and have never fully bought into the sticker craze. And there is no doubt in my mind a black version will be showing up in the next 6 months. I remember when VMP thought they were going to hit a home run with the Odelay reissue but Bong Load got their hands on it and beat them to the press, making their coffee version less desirable.
  2. I'm thinking VMP members should just throw it in their sig for the next couple days, that way it can be picked up randomly and hopefully without thread requests. Just an idea
  3. Any VMP members hoping for a bit more from the package? Would of preferred a die-cut sleeve with interchangeable characters on the front or a solid set of linear notes versus a sticker pack. Minor nitpicking at this point obviously.... still really stoked
  4. Oddly The National exclusive seems to be going up in stock (844)? I am wondering if this is the result of cancelled orders that ordered more than 1. Either way, I recommend people who are members grab what you want from the store as people join the club will get access to those exclusives, and something like Taj (84 left) won't last long.
  5. Thank you! So I just gotta instruct them to follow through with the sign-up 'Join the Club' after being dropped on VMP's homepage.
  6. Put an 'Example' up there. Sorry, not trying to spam, I'm more curious how the link is supposed to behave. For me you get dropped on their site making the link kinda useless as you rely on the referral to convert. I want to send it over to a couple vinyl pals in a group chat and not have to worry about e-mails but I'm confused if I am seeing that experience because I'm already a member?
  7. Do referral links not work currently? For Example: http://fbuy.me/fgeqG
  8. I don't think it was ever advertised as not a ploy to get rid of dead stock... but the 10 records repeated is pretty garbage. All that said... did they have this line there when the grabbag was ordered? It sucks that the dups are the actual grabbags themselves and not individual records, but they gave a vague warning. "10 randomly selected LPs for $40. May contain Relapse and 3rd party titles. If ordering more than 1 grab bag, you may receive duplicates. No refunds or exchanges."
  9. Just sign-up after the Tennis ROTM turns (as YouTwo mentioned, after the 15th) and you should be good. If you sign-up on the 16th you will get access to this month's store as well!
  10. If that chrome bag is anything like the Tomorrow's Modern Boxes bag, it will be a pain in the ass to store / shelve. Great looking package otherwise.
  11. Please, for the love of vinyl gods, let this not turn into a referral code orgy... Still haven't received my Tennis package, but if DD is true, Tennis will stick out like a sore thumb from the past 6 ROTM.
  12. Very few, including some of the early ROTM that we exclusive to VMP and maybe The Fugees as it no longer appears in the store? That being said, it's the store exclusives that get more of the flipper love. Frankly, if there are any exclusives current members have been holding out for, they should grab them when this months store opens because after the April ROTM announcement, a lot of new people will have access and I expect a lot of the exclusives to be eaten up.
  13. What I believe they are trying to do is curb away the one-and-done subscribers. Not so much the flippers. While I think part of the goal is to increase rev and sales, the other part is to decrease expenses and costs. $27 is not cheap but cheap enough that waves of people would ride in for an album here and there. Guessing pressing numbers becomes difficult if 20% of your membership chooses what albums they want, and cancels the other months. Thus leaving VMP with thousands of overstock. If you look at some of the more recent albums, they appear to have done better at guessing pressing counts (most are ~500 in stock). So ya, I think it's just trying to align to a better business model where records have to be pressed months in advance and membership count is hard to accurately predict.
  14. I definitely think a black press is coming given the Demon Days festival, etc. (probably new music too). Been a member for two years running; really interested to see what this, and the introduction of sub-genre subscriptions will do to the overall quality of the club. With that said, I haven't gotten my Tennis package yet, but The Books through Main Source may have been their best 4 month stretch ever in terms of music and quality of packaging / pressings for VMP. If that is an indicator of things to come, I'm pumped.
  15. The second half of LC stands up to any stretch of QOTSA songs in their catalog. Outside of Rated R and SFTD, it's the next one I reach for. Can't wait to see what they come up, and if the events of late 2015 have shaped any of it.
  16. New album is great. Needed the beautiful deluxe package so I bit the bullet from Domino as my locals distributors have no deluxe listed (i.e., feels like a Domino Mart exclusive?)
  17. I am in Toronto and received a CD in my indie clear variant from a store... and I assume I got the NA version so who knows
  18. .ca link - https://www.amazon.ca/No-Plan-Vinyl-David-Bowie/dp/B01NC2KLDG/ Looks like this no longer works? Found it here: https://www.amazon.com/No-Plan-EP-David-Bowie/dp/B01NC2KLDG/
  19. Definitely a bit of FOMO going on with this EP... $50 US for 4 songs (1 of which was previously released) and a 12x12 litho of Bowie? Are we paying for his funeral? (RIP)
  20. I'm going to wait for this. No way that this doesn't come eventually given The Hips iconic status now.
  21. It's something I deal with weekly when it comes to pre-orders of limited variants or availability. If I want a Mondo album like The Fountain, it runs me close to $65 CAD all in. It sucks but it's the price you pay if you don't want to miss out. What hurts more is when I walk into my local shops and find what I pre-ordered for half the cost, but when I asked prior to release they didn't know if they would receive the variant. I have slowed down considerably over the past 6 months because of this, and missed out on pressings. Tis the hobby. But hey, at least I can get Arts & Crafts, Flemish Eye, Constellation, Last Gang and Dine Alone records at a decent shipping rate / know my locals will have the variants
  22. Thanks Nick. Already sucks being a Canadian vinyl collector, and this is yet another blow (not your fault, just the reality). I think I'm just going to hope my local shops end up with some of the limited variants you guys put out. I spent double ordering the red Epoch direct from the store, and my local ended up having it for less than half the cost. Glad the money went to you directly though!
  23. Given how prevalent I found the show's soundtrack in the wild, I will hold off from Mondo. But damn does ordering from them given you consumer confidence that if something goes wrong they will take care of it.
