  1. It's nice to know I can walk into an indie store around here and probably find the PO variant easily considering it usually can cost be between 40-50 CAD for most US or International variants. Heck, I am 100m from the A&C office (that's like 300 feet) and may just pick it up at Field Trip (their yearly festival). Excited to see what they come up with.
  2. We try to keep that stuff in the VMP thread. Although the above post reads more like a well designed referral spam message... with a $29 catch that you need to subscribe to the club and receive the ROTM for June to even get access to the store to buy the FF record. FF stuff has never fully grabbed me and the singles for this are no different. Think I'll leave the exclusive for those who really want it. No one is quite sure where the autographed copies went though
  3. Nothing's really popping out to me in the store this month (I'm usually good for 2-5 add-ons). Only the FF exclusive should sell out within the first couple days (if that).
  4. Nope. I've regretted some of the exclusives / store items I pulled the trigger on thinking I would like them more than I would or I find them cheaper up here, but that's all on me.
  5. I assume this will shop up in the A&C shop at some point... http://craft-shop.ca/index.php?route=common/home
  6. That's more of a problem with Fedex than VMP, no? (For the record, I think that's a legitimate complaint)
  7. I am assuming they just haven't updated the inventory count as this happened a few times during the initial rush and they just upped the inventory. But given Broken's odd pressing (LP + 7") I'm a little worried... I was waiting to grab both Broken and The Fragile in stores. EDIT: BM still has it for those of you in the States...http://www.bullmoose.com/p/24684701/nine-inch-nails-broken-definitive-edition-lp-7 Gotta cross my fingers up here.
  8. Broken being sold out is scaring me... I was hoping to pick these up in stores up here in Canada but now I'm not sure if I missed the boat... here's hoping they are just need to update the inventory count.
  9. Shipping complaints will never go away... especially when you have companies that put millions behind their distribution model to compare to (e.g., Amazon).
  10. I'd argue, so what if the band or label pumps out 7 different variants, you as the listener need to determine out what you find valuable in collecting vinyl. I am in no way saying that variants shouldn't impact your listening experience, to each their own in that respect, but I do think saying that your listening experience is weakened with more variants is unfair to the band/labels and passing the buck. Especially when most of these variants spawn from the label or other distributors (e.g., Newburry, Invada, VMP, etc.), and the band could care less as long as people are listening. So to side a bit with @lethalenforcer, it's more telling of the listener than the band/label if a listening experience is changed because you know there's 6 other variants out there. But hey, that is part of being a vinyl collector these days for a lot of people so I'm not trying to throw shade, just don't think the blame lies with product creator.
  11. Most definitely. Guess they figure they will sell the green anyways for being 'limited'.
  12. I would argue that the 'balance' is on the listener. So if one is worrying more about collecting all variants than the quality of the music, that isn't on the band or label, it's on the listener... no?
  13. Waiting for this to arrive has been brutal... gonna spin Engravings tonight to make up for it... I've saved myself for a first listen when I get to spin it.
  14. Can also confirm my ME release sounds great! Also, that 4-chan thread was pure gold, but it was bound to happen with VMPs rise the past couple months. They try to keep things so secretive but I foresee a time where things become a lot more transparent to avoid this type of BS.
  15. Silver can be found around the web pretty easily, so I'm not surprised if this is closer to the 8k listed on discogs. Grabbed it from JUNO in the UK for $33 CAD shipped which is pretty decent...
  16. Given Tidal didn't sell out (yet), I have a feeling you may be able to access it in next month's store / as a swap for June if you want that in addition to your June DD's package.
  17. I'm seeing them in shops around here, which means it should be out to people by now. Although the NIN store MAY be bundling their shipping together so if you ordered anything else, you may have to wait. But I'm just graspin' at straws on that one...
  18. Yeap, I'm not a morning person so I misread Edited it up... I'll say this, whoever stuck in their referral link to Honey must be getting a king's ransom.
  19. Also, when using a third-party plugin for discounts, and wondering why a site isn't working at checkout may be looking under the wrong rock...
  20. They have described it as a beta program. So it's relatively simple in format right now. I'm sure there will be a more nuanced pricing model down the road if genre subs stick, with the public being able to access them without being a member, or having discounted monthly costs is you sub for an extended period of time. That being said, I signed up but not sure if I will stick with it. I feel a bit of FOMO right now, but my 'classics' collection is missing a ton of essentials and I'm probably better off spending $32 CAD a month on ensuring I have those in my collection over what will inevitably be a hit or miss album to my ears. That being said, give me an electronica sub genre and I'll be signing up for life...
  21. There's a ton of logistics that go into new releases, whether it's ensuring pressing plants are available, setting up and then selling tour dates, or putting the final touches on the product. All that takes months, not days or weeks. I'll take the teaser approach with the vinyl available on album release day, over randomly dropping a full album and then having to wait 4 months to have it on wax after I have moved on...
  22. Getting DD and Tidal leads me to believe that almost anything is possible with them. Off-the-record, they have tried for QOTSA's SftD a few times but have failed... so they are going after the white whales and Tool's discography has been a vocal point on the board... so you never know.
  23. Take this with a grain of salt, but not sure why people are doubting MOV uses master tapes when they have them. Also, I'm not sold that this won't be a label play and will be controlled by Tool. Which masters do you use? We use the best audio available to cut our records. We receive and use different kinds of masters: analogue tapes, original metal parts, lacquers cut from analogue tapes and high res digital files 192/96khz/24 bit. Music On Vinyl does not use CD's as masters. http://www.musiconvinyl.com/about-us#.WREEgYnyvUI
  24. I bet it has more to deal with the fact they ship outside the US, and also deal with packages that have 10+ records in it that don't have incremental 'shipping costs'. Also, I'm sure that DD e-mail is for those who are on the waiting list. I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up with a few extra jackets and found a window to press a few more given the demand...
