not to say this makes things right but a huge portion of the up-charge on the art editions is to pay Haze for his time and art; I highly doubt that 100% of those funds go directly back to the label.

Definitely not opposed to it but I make an exception for Underoath. Even when they were touring - they cash grabbed and locked cool shit behind pay walls every chance they got. Nothing has changed sadly.

just stopping by to make my annual post that I really wish this band and fanbase didnt exist; their record label was actively encouraging fans to go to any store they can (in a global pandemic) to buy extra copies of their album... just so they could get the social media coverage of picture receipts and RT to flood feeds. Looking at you Rise, give up on your cash cow and promote the bands that actually deserve it. (or maybe even do something that reflects the times??)

QC on “unlimited black” pressings for modern albums are notorious for being riddled with issues. smaller batches (1000 or less) tend to have higher quality control.

Are these modern albums you are buying? And are the pressings for said album(s) the unlimited black version? if yes to both of the above, this is your main issue. also... Check discogs reviews!!!! 95% of the time it’s a known issue with the entire batch and can be avoided by doing the due dilligence vs. blind buying and hoping for the best.
