Update on this. I had asked if they had any of the old Chris Z. zines on the note w/ my last order, back in August. They found some and hooked me up! Randomly sent me a couple of 'em w/ a note and an "I can be afraid of anything" balloon. So cool!!

Started reading the new(est) Murakami book, Killing Commendatore, finally. It's been sitting on my bedside table for what feels like an eternity.

It’s such a bummer that his voice just disappeared when he left TWIABP. Would’ve ate up any project he was attached to.

Everyone shat on Wilderness when it first dropped, it seemed, but I immediately dug it more than Take Care, and it’s really continued to age well for me, too.  I would be thrilled to see some cuts from it in a live setting.  Damn.
 
Regarding new TWDY; I can see how some of the album may go in one ear and out the other.  And the qualms with the production are fairly justified.  But as someone who was floored by New Topia on the last album, this record channels a lot of those same lofty vibes with the occasional burst of energy.  Syncage is next level, for me.

Wax mage does shit like this all the time. Follow them on social media and you can eventually get a similar looking variant with music that doesn’t suck on it.

On first listen and the chorus of Hold Up a Light just hit.  Yikes.  I feel like I’m about 1 tank-top and 3 Monster energy drinks unprepared for this banger.

I’ll check it out—I probably listened to it at some point back in the WinMX/Kazaa days. Mainly into the others for the nostalgia.
