- I enjoy listening to this WAY more in my living room than from my laptop speakers (goes without saying) - I like a lot of the arrangements on this (Close Enough is really fun, that buzzy bass really threw me off) and I like the WAY he sings, but SO many of his lyrics are just cliches thrown together - 180 gram wax was a nice bonus - no lyrics sheet? - white records are hard to shoot and then separate out the background for that pristine product photo look. dealwithit.gif

Had another appointment with Greggletron today - same dude who did my Russian Circles / Death Rides A Horse leg piece from a few pages back. He knocked out the lines and most of the shading on a companion piece to Death & his horse on the other side of my leg, all in under 2 1/2 hours. I promised him I wouldn't post work-in-progress photos online until we were done. But it's fucking beautiful. Also, he tattooed on the back of my knee for about 90 seconds total, but in that time I wanted to punch babies and kittens. Holy balls.

I'm hoping they do regular reissue sets like this with the lesser known names and one big name. They've gotta attach some fame to them. Bring on the Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Roy Orbison.

A little back story, in 2005 our merch company was doing a lot of work with Limbeck and our imprint Vinyl Nerd had put out a couple 7"s. We talked with the band and everyone agreed that we would put out "Let Me Come Home" on vinyl with special screen printed covers and lots of variants. Things got far enough along that we spent the money to get not one, but two sets of test presses done, 8 copies in each set. The first 8 copies had a minor defect, a small skip, but enough that we needed a second set pressed. This copy is from the second set of 8 test presses and has no skip. This was actually set to be approved but at the last second there were some differences in opinion as to what everyone wanted the visuals to look like. Both parties agreed to cancel the project outright, and these have sat in my office for the last 8 years in the original UPS boxes. In the photos you will see the original paperwork from Erika (sorry that's not included) showing the title as "So Long", which refers to the run out groove etching. We were moving our company from Eudora to Lawrence at the time so the entire etching reads "So long Eudora, it's been a blast." This copy has been played exactly 1 time and comes in the original white sleeve. Cool story bro.
