I got mine Friday and there are some pictures of the labels etc. on Discogs now.
 
It's a completely different pressing from my UK or originals and definitely a different master, judging by the amount of Island logo's they took charge of this one, apart from the obvious like vinyl colour and Island branding it looks and feels a much nicer made package with the plus of having a printed inner with band photo's on it.
 
Sound wise I've only given it one listen so far but first impressions are that it's a nicer master than the original UK or US ones and getting close to as good as the 7" box set version, my only complaint would be that on side A there is very little run out so if you have any IGD problems I expect this LP will show it up.

If you already have all the full lengths and aren't aching for these reissues but still hungry for more REM releases on vinyl, I recommend some of their live and demo bootlegs.  
I have Finest Worksongs, We Are Having a Heavenly Time, Really Exciting Music, and Smokin' in the Boys Room and they are all solid.  Quality can vary from song to song but I love putting those on while I work and hearing alternate takes of some awesome songs.

All spelling aside, "Murmur" is a moody, cryptic and wonderful album. 
 
I have listened to both the US OG and the MFSL. They BOTH sound great, and slightly different from each other.

Preordered the EP on amazon, should arrive tomorrow.

I had the US OG "New Adventures in Hi-Fi," and I was not happy with the sound.
 
Then I paid the extra for the German "Alsdorf" pressing. Sounded much better to my ears.

My pleasure, Tool has been a huge part of my musical diet since the beginning, happy to share. 

Usually when collectors pay that much for a record, there is something unique or original about it, even if it may not be to your personal taste.
 
Sure it will be an interesting listen at least.

The first group of the four self titled sound amazing, this round is a no brainer! 

These reissues (the first wave, at least) were cut from hi-res digital files. While some think they sounded good, the general consensus on the Steve Hoffman Forums is that the Classic Records releases blow these out of the water. 
 
Another disappointing aspect is that with the announcement of the second wave, it would appear they are skipping over a lot of the other albums, such as Passion (easily one of his best works), Secret World Live, Ovo, etc. Would've been great to have reissues of those on vinyl. 
 
Personally, I think the first four reissues sound pretty good. It's nice to have pristine copies of his albums, but at the same time, I really wish they would have gone the extra mile and did all analog cuts so that these could be the best versions of the albums ever released (I'm not sure if US and Up were recorded digitally or analog, though). 
 
 

Also, it sounds counter-intuitive but vinyl analysts only look at retail price when calculating the purchase of your asset.  So, 25 cents plus tax plus $4 shipping is actually considered a much better deal than $1 plus tax in a record store.

It's not enough to get an album you like for $1.  You have to maximize your ROI and show that you are serious about your portfolio.

I'm willing to trade my Carl Douglass Kung Fu Fighting 7 inch for the BTW 7 inch.

I found On Letting Go by Circa Survive one time when I was still collecting cds. Not rare or anything, but it was fifty cents and a surprise to see. I've since donated all my cds to my local record store, but that stuck out. 

Really hope the album comes out quickly to end this terrible discussion.
