  1. This is crazy shit indeed but for some people to say Pussy Riot is somewhat responsible for it is like saying the Beatles are somewhat responsible for Charles Manson's murders. Doesn't make sense but some people do not have much sense either.
  2. For what it's worth, there is a japanese 12" bootleg of the demo.
  3. Good idea. Will it be searchable by anyone, even non-members of the forum?
  4. I asked in the PopMarket thread but I'll ask here too since I'm tempted by this bundle : Anyone has a working coupon code? Facebook10 is not working anymore.
  5. The "Facebook10" coupon code is not valid anymore... Anyone has a code that works?
  6. I can agree on that. At the same time, you have to get the dust off the brush...
  7. I store them outside so I'm not totally sure but my guess is that they fit just right. EDIT : They fit fine.
  8. http://www.sleevetown.com/lp-sleeves-inner.shtml They have good inner sleeves. The top 3 are the best there is. I don't like paper sleeves myself as they seem rough on the vinyl.
  9. There are numerous ways to clean records. Obviously, the record cleaning machine with a good cleaning fluid is probably the best. On my part, I did not invest in one yet. I used a cleaning brush (velvet type) for years with great results. Any piece of dust you can see is caught in it if you have black records. Don't push too hard. This alone makes a major difference on the sound and dust will never gather around your stylus. Make sure you clean your brush everytime with clean fingers and take off that lint ball you made. Replace it whenever it feels used and not as soft as it was. For dirty records you bought used or some you just didn't care and put your fingers on (shame!), there is cleaning fluid with velvet type brushes (Discwasher D4 in exemple) that does a good job. You can find them at many online stores. Just spray a bit of fluid on the record while spinning onto the turntable and gently put the brush down for a little while. Let it dry a minute or two. Clean it again with a dry pad. Finally I'd like to says that you should invest in good inner sleeves. Paper sleeves seem to gather more dust with time in my experience. This was obviously not some high-end methods but for most people who care enough for their records it is way better than nothing, heh? I would recommend this DVD for anyone interested into the subject : It's a Vinyl World After All ~ Michael Fremer
  10. What was supposed to be a Trojan numbered copy actually came from Universal and was standard. I guess anyone who ordered the limited edition got fluked. Looking for a refund. I paid way more for that copy than what I would have paid on Amazon.
  11. Plastic cases are partially what made CDs junk. Putting a vinyl record in a tight hole and prying it to take it out would kill me a little inside everytime I would take it out. The fear of cracking it would be to immense. The link above seems to be a good idea for the OP. I would check if old video disc casings would fit as they are 12"x12" too. Sick record above!
  12. Anyone like me pre-ordered the limited numbered copy from Trojan and got a regular copy instead??? Or anyone got a limited copy at all?
  13. I would personnally prefer the classic method of a Stereo Receiver and Passive Speakers. The second method would work but quality-wise I have my doubts. A $20 preamp seems pretty cheap but I don't know the model the other offered. Active speakers are not my thing either except for partys outside, I beleive most of them are not that quiet on the noise when there's no signal but I have not had many of them. You could score some good cheap vintage receiver/speakers at garage sales for $30. It did the trick for me for one or two years then I upgraded.
  14. Thanks for sharing with pictures. I had an old turntable with speed problems (too fast). It turned out that it was the belt that got loose. Replaced it and speed was better.
  15. I have seen some plastic stuff of different colour glow in the dark (red/pink, green, yellow, orange). I suppose it's possible to have vinyl of different colour glow in the dark too. I have a greenish Against Me! RAR that glows, the poster above me has a red/pink/white one... There just not many pressings like that because of, I beleive, sound quality problems.
  16. The preorder is up pretty much everywhere from $17 on Hip O records but Trojan has a preorder for a special numbered /300 copy for 19.99£. For the Trojan fans. http://www.trojanrecords.com/news/2012/07/jimmy-cliff's-'rebirth'-out-now!
  17. I think it happened to a record of mine many years ago. First, my belt was too loose so maybe it did not have enough torque and the record was warped a bit but the thing I did was placing the aluminium center adapter on top of the record so it did like a little weight in the middle and it worked.
  18. We did somekind of Vinyl Collector guide at the FatWreckWiki so you might want to get something there : http://www.fatwreckwiki.com/w/Vinyl_Collectors_Guide
  19. You can even make your own easel with an old record like I did here : I know it's not a crazy slick piece since I cooked it more than I do with bowls so no hate please. This was my first try and I did not take my time or measures. It looks like this and it does the job for now : I find it very handy, it shows the cover of what's playing and it leaves you more room of top of your desk.
  20. Some find it great, some not. Rush is the kind of band that grows on you because you always hear new stuff with each listen. Reviews so far are great. This is a concept album it seems but I did not really get it yet. Musically it reminds me of their last studio album, Snakes & Arrows. I'm very satisfied by it after two listens.
  21. Today there is a great deal at PopMarket for "Clockwork Angels" and "Moving Pictures LIVE" : http://www.popmarket...etails/27290144 30$ with free shipping. Well worth it, all 180 gram vinyl. I also got my vinyl today from Amazon (use code facebook10 for a rebate)
