  1. Yeah, and the cost for 7"s has gotten crazy. Besides a few exceptions I just buy them digitally. Even purged all the ones that have later appeared on compilation releases like Braid, Less Than Jake and The Get Up Kids. And if/when The Promise Ring and Jimmy Eat World ever do that I'll get rid of those 7"s, too. I think I just realized I'm the anti-collector.
  2. I guess when I was younger Less Than Jake made variant collecting fun, but it only lasted about a year. I soon realized I could be spending that money on a different record. To each his own, but I'm glad I made that decision back then. My only regret is deciding to keep my picture disc of Hello Rockview instead of one of the other 2 colors I had of it since they could get me more on ebay. That $20 difference doesn't seem so great today.
  3. Probably not a realistic solution, but I had this as a kid. My dad told me I was never ever to play one of his records on it. I had no idea why not back then, but that's why I learned to work his system. Also, I laugh at the "ages 8 and up" on the box, I might have been done with this one by then.
  4. I thought this thread might enjoy this. I'm pretty sure Vamos was the first word I ever learned in Spanish as a kid because of the b-side. And yes, the song is as cheesy as you think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvSXJ4_g228 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOkwntI7hdo
  5. According to Polyvinyl's site the Walker/Back of Dave split 7" came out 20 years ago today and was their first music release. My Polyvinyl collection started with an American Football CD in 2000, but started growing to this soon after. With the Owen/Into It. Over It. split coming out next month this picture will already be outdated, but I'm sure I'll always be buying a few things from them each year. And it also means more Airheads with my mail orders, which is nice. Note: While I included Matt Pond PA's non-Polyvinyl albums that they pressed, I left out Headlights' The Enemies EP and Owen's (the ep) since they were pressed by Mi Amante in Germany.
  6. Yes. I'm only missing Sorry Ma, and while I'm sure I could get the $70 easy by selling the other 3 I'd rather just buy the one I need.
  7. Cool. Looks like I'll finally get to buy STWHA... for the 3rd time. Got my first one signed way back then, and my replacement for that was warped and was lazy about returning it until it was too late and then went out of print. Finally get to make up for old mistakes.
  8. I rarely buy 7"s anymore, but no way I'm passing up this one. It feels like I always have something preordered from Polyvinyl. Just got the new Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin album last week, now this. I never seem to go more than a few months without eating an Airhead.
  9. Well going by that, I have everything under Rocky's name except for those German pressings with the bonus 7"s. I've had the Waxwing, Lying on Loot and Kentucky Pistol 7"s on my list for a while. Is that Green Hell site a good place to buy from? I'm probably going to hold off on those, but it's good to know that somewhere besides Discogs has them. And selling the copies I already have could maybe cover the cost for one of them.
  10. Well I just happened to double check Discogs and noticed there's also a German version of True Devotion with an extra 7". Guess I'll be adding both of those German presses to my want list. It really seems like after that I've got everything, but I'm sure you would surprise me with something else.
  11. I just saw this and had to find out what you were talking about. I had no idea those bonus Kickstarter tracks were pressed on a 7" for a Euro version. Now I have to go track one of those down. Thanks a lot, man. Hey, at least I can get a little back selling the record I already have.
  12. I usually do if I don't buy from a local store. I've eaten dozens of Airheads over the past 15 years from my Polyvinyl mail orders. I just bit at the $7.99 price, didn't expect this to happen. Guess I'll cancel it and order from Side One.
  13. I was wondering why I didn't get a notification from Amazon on Sunday or yesterday about this getting shipped for today. Then I check my email and it says delayed and not knowing the new date. I guess everyone else who ordered from Amazon got this? I'm wondering how long it will be and if I should cancel and buy it from someone else.
  14. Nice. Time to sell off my original copy of Substance and the Warsaw bootleg (I bought to fill in the gaps of those songs left off Substance) before the average ebayer hears about these.
  15. Wow, I was holding off a few days, expecting to buy this and Inception from CD Universe and every day since it was released they've raised the price a little. Now it's the same price as Amazon.
  16. I haven't attempted going to Waterloo in a few years since the lines are crazy long, but their way is the best. They line up each title in alphabetical order down the aisles on the top display, and you have to stay in line to get what you want. You just walk by and grab what you want while you're moving. No shelves of flipping makes it all a little quicker and easier.
  17. Got this at Rocky's living room show last weekend.
  18. Holy shit I completely forgot about this getting released. How much was it? I'm going to see him this Saturday.
  19. I didn't order mine until a couple weeks ago. So either the color was random or they sorted them by pre-order date and just missed out. Oh well, no difference to me.
  20. Where were you 10 years ago? It's not a total loss, I was sort of tricky about some of them. "Oh sure take the Joy Division full lengths, I'll be fine with Still and Substance (the ones that are out of print)". Plus no more Wang Chung on my shelf, so my Rocky Votolato and Waxwing records are next to each other, as they should be.
  21. That does sound delightful. What doesn't is when you divorce and she claims that she deserves a bunch of the records even though she would play them on her own like once a year. And now you're slowly trying to rebuy them, you know the ones that haven't gone out of print...goddammit.
  22. I swear if I ever start a record label there will be no color variants. I will be expecting a daily torch mob outside my door.
  23. Can someone screen print a shirt for me by Record Store Day that says: "Don't care about limited editions. Don't care about color."?
