  1. lsu being #5 is irrelevant right now. it would take 2 auburn losses to even put them in the conference championship game. and i will not be a hypocrite, if auburn loses a game and so does someone else they should not be in the bcs title game. 3 years ago georgia fans complained that lsu only jumped them because they won the conference and said there is no rule that says you have to win your conference. but the voters were right, you should be a conference champion. and i will stand by that even if auburn loses one of their 2 last conference games. i am a huge les miles hater and expected lsu to lose 5 games this season. i almost ran around my apartment complex in my boxers when i thought he screwed up in the end of that tennessee game. but i have to give them some respect now. are they a #5 team? probably not but with their schedule they deserve to be up there. and yes jefferson and lee are usually awful, but they won 2 championships in the last 10 years with qb's that were game managers, not play makers. this time they are just pretty damn good with a not so great qb. could you imagine if they had a better one? they would have probably beat auburn and would sitting on top the bcs. i fucking still hate les miles and hopefully he'll blow a game again soon. i am going to be an auburn fan for the next month. if lsu keeps winning and so does auburn lsu will get to play in the sugar bowl. and as long as they play boise and not tcu i think they have a shot.
  2. i'm kinda new so i figure i should do this. between 1999 and 2004 i would mostly buy only my favorite albums on vinyl, as i was working on an ultimate cd collection. then 2 years ago i decided to sell all my 1000+ cds. it gave me the reason to buy records again so now i'm trying to play catch up on 6 years of not buying on top of all the older stuff i'd want. over the last few months i sold a lot of my 7"s that i didn't listen to focus on buying lp's. if you check out my list you can get an idea of what i like. i think i've already figured out what to get my person and it's good timing because it's the annual 20% the entire store sale at waterloo this weekend! that means more stuff for them in the mail. besides music i'm a huge movie and sports nerd(houston astros, arsenal soccer, houston texans, and lsu football). and comics have become a new obsession, as i've pretty much filled an entire shelf in just a little over a year. one last important thing, i have my wife's records also added to my list and although i don't mind including 95% of hers as mine i do not want anymore mates of state or lady gaga records... yes, unfortunately i do have 2 lady gaga lp's on my record shelf.
  3. thank you! i said the exact same thing. in the book i figured she did it once out of sadness about rick or just being scared. my only other complaint is t-dogg. i don't think they called him by anything else, and i really, really hope that guy isn't supposed to be tyreese. he looks nowhere near as bad ass as tyreese is.
  4. i agree, and i think the reason for me was all the good songs i knew from them before they got their show were used in the first season. then again sugarlumps and too many dicks on the dance floor were pretty cool.
  5. for me it was the man sitting next to him. i knew when nolan ryan bought the team he was going to steal the aaa team that is here in austin away from the astros because his family owns them. it happened and now i don't see any reason to go watch them again since they aren't the astros' team anymore. almost pisses me off as much as him going in the hall of fame as a ranger. the astros still don't have anyone in the hall of fame, well they will in a couple of years when biggio gets in.
  6. i'm more happy about the rangers not winning. because it means the astros still aren't the oldest franchise never to win. the rangers hold that honor by a single year.
  7. i wouldn't be surprised if ra's al ghul is back, because you don't actually see him die and what a way to end it than with the man who helped him with the skills to become batman. plus i heard marion cotillard turned down an unnamed part for the movie, my guess is catwoman or better yet, talia al ghul. and i'm all for tom hardy playing hush. that is my first choice if he is signed on to be a villain because it would be awesome to see someone from bruce's past come at him. i know this could have just been nolan talking a few years ago considering they hadn't even started working on the script, but i really think two face is dead. he said he wouldn't come back and i believe him. yes i know we don't see his body after he fell, but why would gordon keep it a secret and either hide him somewhere or let him go? before i saw dark knight i was totally expecting him to transform near the end of the movie setting up him as the villain in the final movie. but i think nolan tricked everyone and is going to make it even better with batman having to fight a villain while being chased for real this time from the cops. and also in 5 years when they want to reboot the franchise i'm all for making a dark knight returns movie. yes everyone will compare it to the the dark knight considering it has joker and two face in it, but it will be completely different. the only problem is dc doesn't want to combine characters like marvel is doing right now, and you can't make a dark knight returns movie without superman.
  8. i've felt this way for years now. haven't really got into any new bands, but funny enough almost all of the bands i like that are still together actually put stuff out this year. but most of the time i'm listening to stuff i was into in high school 10 years ago. i hit that middle age stop listening to new stuff thing like 15 years sooner than i thought i would. i have been on this manchester kick lately. oasis, buzzcocks, joy division, the smiths and a whole lot of new order.
  9. i had a little too much fun saturday night and had a hard time getting up for it yesterday, but i was so happy i was at the bar to watch that game with 50 arsenal fans. getting to boo adebayor and chant arsenal reject. it was such a great win. and with everyone slowly coming back from injuries it should be a nice run. hopefully make up some points because they don't play any top teams for a month.
  10. a few years ago my wife posted a picture of all her 16 different color converse on flikr. she added a comment about her red ones being nearly 10 years old and all beat up. some random guy emailed her and asked if he could buy them. ask a joke of a reply she said sure as long as you buy a new pair. within a day he sent $45 to us though paypal. to this day we aren't sure if he just wanted an old looking pair of little size 5 shoes without having to do the work, or he wanted to pleasure himself to them. i still joke around with her that he probably printed out a picture of her and looks at it while he does his business with them. ...i'm a great husband.
  11. ha. that was my desktop background for a long time a while back. i remember showing it to my girlfriend and her saying, "yep that's you".
  12. jesus! someone jump on this. i wasn't really into comics before i read these and now i'm a comic nerd on top of music, movies and sports. brian k. vaughan is now one my favorite writers, his other book ex machina is also a favorite. i wish i could have found them all together like this. i got lucky enough and got them at a half price books and that still cost over $80 for all of them. this is a must have.
  13. damn, good luck. i sold all those 7"s a few months ago. they didn't even go on ebay for as much as i thought they would have.
  14. awesome record. both songs are in my top 5 for both bands. all these memories are coming back to me when i got to see them play together a few times. I came so close to accidentally selling mine when i got rid of my other get up kids 7"s. then i remembered i needed to keep it because of the anniversary song. total long shot but i sold my extra copy a friend gave me a few years ago to this little store here. i'll search the used section for it next time i'm there.
  15. i did just remember seeing a guy in front of me in line at waterloo a few weeks ago with one of their 7"s someone sold the store. if i come across anymore of them i'll let you know.
  16. i bought everything they released from record stores, plus the tour 7", the sub pop singles 7" and the devil in the woods magazine 7" way back. i got lucky and never had to pay a lot for anything on ebay. i did just sell the proudntall split 7" because they also put that song on their fall of 2000 tour 7". i recently got rid of any 7"s that had songs i had on other releases and i didn't see a reason to keep that one. if vagrant ever releases devil on our side (which they wont) i'd sell all the other 7"s too. but if that ever happens i'll come on here with them first. ...i bet you would hate me if you saw that i bought 2 copies of nervous breakdown because i got the first one autographed. i'm not too big on autographs, just thought it would be cool for the band to sign it.
  17. the black star s/t lp is my favorite hip hop record of all time. still waiting on a 2nd album but it's been 12 years so maybe i shouldn't get my hopes up. and because of that i love everything by talib kweli and mos def. especially talib kewli because i really love reflection eternal. bummed he was in town last night i didn't go see him.
  18. there are actually a lot of arsenal and chelsea supporters here in austin. they even make a trophy for the derby. and they do a charity drive too. this great bar in town has a big screen on the patio but the chelsea fans claimed it first so we were inside. it was funny seeing 50 arsenal fans yelling at the 50 chelsea fans outside. best part was when anelka missed that practically open goal shot we started chanting, "arsenal reject!" but i guess they got the last laugh in the end. with everyone missing i had a feeling they would lose 2-0. i was just hoping i was going to be wrong.
  19. yes. i've been listening to them a good amount lately. a while back i almost bought their 45's off of ebay just to have something of theirs to play on my record player.
  20. yeah i'm the same way. but i just took the 2 minutes and did it anyway.
  21. i feel like i have to say something back, but you're right. that was embarrassing.
  22. i wouldn't be shocked if it happened. jade tree has been getting started re-pressing stuff, and here i thought the label has been dead for years. i was able to buy them back when they came out, but i'd love jade tree to put out a vinyl edition of all the promise ring singles and ep's. or at the very least press horse latitudes. and the owls lp, because i can't believe how many times i picked it up at the store or at their show and put it back down.... then it went out of print.
  23. first thing that comes to mind is the IT crowd. that's what my avatar is from. but it's a goofy type of funny british show that i actually discovered from netflix a while back.
