  1. This is my friend Don. He's a rapper. Listen to "Brand New Day" (like the sixth or seventh song on his myspace player): http://www.myspace.com/dontheworker504
  2. I've sold a lot of things via Amazon's Marketplace over the past 8 years and they always annoyed me because they would put items significantly cheaper than the rest of the sellers. I can't get mad at this, you know, if they paid less and still make a profit, it's their right. But, I've noticed the same thing that the OP mentioned. I've emailed them a few times asking, "Do you really have such and such LP for $5?" And I get a reply, "No, it's the CD". It's listed as vinyl though. Happened more times than I care to mention.
  3. Oh, I was only looking at the lowtops. I haven't worn hightops since 6th grade.
  4. If you missed out on "In Motion" there's a dude flipping 'em: http://shop.ebay.com/field6689/m.html
  5. Nick isn't trying to rip anyone off. He sold me two tests plus another limited variant of the record for $60 ppd. He wouldn't have lowered the prices just because of the pressure from the consumer renegades on this board. The quality of these tests is by far the best I've ever seen.
  6. I was about to ask the same thing. I ran across a copy at my favorite record store and I thought bout buying because I assumed it was OOP and kinda rare (only $20). But when I picked it up, the 2xLP felt heavier than normal so I assumed it was 180gram. It seems like major labels put out regular or colored vinyl first then do 180gram thereafter (that's what seems to happen with Flaming Lips and Wilco). Anyway, I looked up the UPC on my phone and it came up on Amazaon as something they had in stock for less than $20. I thought the 180gram was still in print so when I saw this I was confused. But they did a anniversary edition and it's on colored vinyl so who knows.
  7. If I'm not mistaken, this is probably the biggest record Dreamover put out. It's certainly Brandtson's best. Perhaps he anticipated more of a demand for the album. Perhaps he pressed enough to warrant 20?
  8. I just got asked by my local record store to volunteer to help make RSD a smooth day and I get paid in store credit. If I can use store credit to buy this that would make RSD 2011 my personal favorite.
  9. Yeah, go to Orlando! Park Ave CD's is one of the best record stores in the state! I was born and raised in Melbourne. If you go to the beach, stay in Jax or drive the two and a half hours to Cocoa Beach. Avoid Daytona. New Smyrna beach is nice too.
  10. I try to plug my numbers in to a few free services (H&R Block, Turbo Tax, etc) just to see what figures I get. Sometimes one asks about a deduction outside of the standard deductions that the other doesn't. I've found I usually get more deductions with one or the other. But I usually go back and forth between the two. Sounds weird, I know, but just try it. Could get you a few hundred more bucks.
  11. I saw UO a couple times in 2002 when Dallas was in the band. I don't remember Jesus talk at all. I like religious talk. I like talking about religion/theology/philosophy. It's what I studied in grad school and I enjoy talking about anything with anyone pertaining to the questions of God, truth, the universe, et al. On the contrary, I don't want to be lectured about the positive aspects veganism or animal rights. So, I can understand why people don't dig the religious talk. I guess it's all par for the course. If you know a band upholds a particular ideology, you should expect to hear about it. I hated George W. Bush but I got so tired of hearing "fuck Bush" at shows during his 2004-08 reign. It was the easiest thing to yell and made the show seem more like a prep rally than a show. Sometimes preaching isn't just related to religion.
  12. Shipping was cheaper on the MerchDirect site for the 7" because it allowed you to choose Media.
  13. Only the Ramones were allowed to do that. Haha. I was just about to put this. Metallica wore their own t-shirts in 84.
  14. Just realized this isn't even slated to ship until about a month from now.
  15. Cries of The Past and nothing else! Seriously, I'd like to get all of these but their stuff is always so much to ship. I wish a label would have put these out instead of a merch company.
  16. Yeah, if you're still wearing band shirts at 30, something is wrong with your life. Oh wait, I'm 30.
  17. I got the download. I like the tunes. Still waiting on this to ship too.
  18. Doesn't this prove that groups like Girl Talk are bullshit?
  19. Indeed you are. So much so that you make it a point to highlight it for all to see. Bully for you! Please note that I wasn't insulting you, your grasp of the English language, your logic and reason or your intelligence. I was simply pointing out that you jumped to a conclusion and your neck hair bristled unnecessarily. Lately I've gotten quite bored with the negativity on this board, so please pardon my sarcasm. It's all in good fun. I made an assumption based on the comment you made subsequent to mine. If your comment was made unwittingly with no attention paid to mine, then fair enough.
  20. I assume this is meant for me mostly. Nowhere did I make any kind of declarative statement telling anyone how to spend their money. Consequently, I posed the question, "Who has the money for this?" Then made an assumption that whoever buys it will probably be charging it. This conclusion is based on the simple principle that the average American household with at least one credit card is nearly $10K in debt.
  21. There were actually three 10"s released for Simple Science. I think they corresponded with countries they were touring. They did one for England, Japan, and then a Europe press. Could be wrong about the Euro one, but I know there's three because I have two.
