  1. Look, if he said, "I bought 10 copies in 2001 and I've been saving them because I had a feeling this record would blow up" then most of would probably buy it. This guy has been trying to peddle stuff on the boards this time around instead of eBay. There's a reason for it. Just put it on eBay and shut the fuck up.
  2. It's good to see other people putting into words what I think every time I get a package in the mail.
  3. smailtronic, I'm not entirely sure right now but I could look. If you're still in Baton Rogue, I think a few places in NOLA have it.
  4. Drawing Black Lines is the only Project 86 album I still own. I remember reading an article in HM back in the day, like, jeez, 98 or 99. Apparently, HM was interviewing Andrew Schwab and Brandon Ebel was within earshot while this was taking place. The interviewer called Project 86 'rapcore' and Schwab indignantly interrupted and said, "We're not rapcore." And he looked over at Ebel and yelled "We're not rapcore" right at him. There was apparently some annoyance on Schwab's part with how that first record turned out. But if you go and listen to "Pipe Dream," it's pretty much rapcore. LOL.
  5. Hey man, you've got some good stuff. I probably don't have much you want but check out the list anyway: http://www.deadformat.net/topic.php?id=28409
  6. A local store here asked some regular customers to volunteer on RSD this year and the owner would pay us in store credit. Naturally, I volunteered. I asked if I could put aside the releases I wanted and use the store credit to pay for them, and the manager said that would be fine. I think that's the only way I'm participating in RSD from now on!
  7. The only song I like by this band is "Suspects, Alibis, and Partners in Crime"
  8. You're clearly still young enough to not have learned to read. Nobody said anything about getting a record in two weeks.
  9. I want to remember a time when he did some descent stuff. Raising Arizona is hilarious. And, while lame at moments, whenever Face Off is on TV, I will watch it.
  10. We all love record stores but don't go sell your stuff to one. They're just trying to make money. We would all do it too but they're looking for people who don't know what they have and will be content with $100. Incidentally, I have actually made quite a few good scores buying stuff from a store that didn't know some of the bands they had.
  11. Someone looking to buy a good band's music and not the same old trash. Good luck tracking down GG.
  12. I guess I just don't get why you would even have to contact the seller within two weeks. That is not a lot of time. It has taken me a week to get to the post office before. Most of us have jobs and other things going on that making a trip to the post office is not an option every day. That plus media mail can easily take over 2 weeks. Okay, we're talking about apples and oranges to some extent. Ordering from a store or distro where they don't always get delivery confirmation or give the buyer the # is different than buying/trading with a person from the message boards. So, if I paid VJ and didn't have any contact with him after 2 weeks, I'd write him an email asking about my stuff. If he didn't respond after a few days, I'd write him again. Third time, I might drop the threat of a claim because he's a proprietor and I have now engaged in commerce with him. To some tiny extent, he's got an obligation to communicate with me. I don't know VJ, and I've never bought anything from him, so I'm not saying he would do this or act this way. Just an example. But, if I bought something from you Kurtz, I would ask and pay an extra buck just to be able to track the package with d/c. If you gave me the d/c # and the package was moving, I'd have no need to email you. Even if it sits in Paducah, KY for a week, I know it's moving. Again, if I paid you and two weeks went by with no emails saying "I'm shipping it soon" or "Here's you d/c #" then I would be writing you. It's a perfectly reasonable request when you buy something for the buyer to keep the lines of communication open. My girlfriend went into labor last year and we had a baby. Before I went back up to the hospital (long story), I made sure someone who bought over $50 for some records got his stuff shipped because I knew it wouldn't be happening for some time after that.
  13. 2 weeks? ...really? Remind me never to sell anything to you. deafmx is right, I clearly stated a response to an email. But Kurtz, if it takes you two weeks to write me an email letting me know what's going on, or if it even takes you two weeks to ship a record, I wouldn't feel confident about buying from you. Extraneous circumstances are one thing, but after a payment is sent, it shouldn't take a week to mail records.
  14. In my experience, when a seller isn't responding to my emails or the item is taking longer than expected, I've had much success with the threat of filing a claim. Notice I said "threat," not actually filing. If you've waited 2 weeks after payment is sent, a threat works nicely. Most sellers who have been selling a while know what that means and will respond accordingly.
  15. I'm 30. I went home during college summers. At 22, I stopped going home because I was so tired of my parent's 'authority'. Little did I realize that having to pay for everything, even when renting, can get expensive quick. I was taking a lot for granted. In 2005, at 25, I was in grad school, living in New Orleans. When Katrina happened and my place was inundated with water, I had to bite the bullet and go live with them in Florida. It was awful. I was totally independent at that point, I paid all my bills. I was making it. It felt like a fail to have to go back home. In hindsight, it wasn't terrible. I saved a ton of cash. But it was constricting and I know they were unhappy at times. It was only a year.
  16. An iPad would be cool to have but it's just not necessary for me to have. I wish I could win a contest and get one. That'd be the day.
  17. Ha. I would say screw it and put it on eBay. It's still going for $40. If you were honest with the other ones and you still have one, I think you have no moral or 'DIY' obligation to not flip it. It's not like you bought it just to flip. Someone even vouched for you that you were a good dude. Reward yourself. Don't take shit for finding one.
  18. Hi. I don't have anything specifically on your list but I've got some stuff I'm trying to get rid of that's similar. Check out my list: http://www.deadformat.net/topic.php?id=28409
  19. This would totally be a cool thing to own but I have no need to buy one. It would be stellar to win one though.
  20. The deluxe version, though not worth $25, is really nice. The pic disc is HEAVY (150gram maybe). Better than the standard pic disc.
