  1. I love jazz. Have for years. I've lived in New Orleans (birthplace of jazz) for 5 years now. I struggle with paying boatloads for an original Blue Note of something or just buying the reissue which sounds way better. I like the collectability of the originals. That said, I only have one original. About to get a Miles Davis album that's original on Prestige. My record store has it for $40 which is way under priced. The jacket isn't in great shape. "Cookin" it's a great record.
  2. In the 80's, Original Jazz Classics repressed a lot of the great labels catalog (Blue Note, Prestige, Riverside, etc), and for the most part, they were less than $10. Blue Note is reissuing a lot of the classic stuff now on 180-200 gram vinyl now, a lot of the time, spanning two discs and at 45 RPM. Those are running $40-50 new. The thing is, the beauty of eBay and Amazon, things can be purchased cheaper a lot of times. I got a test pressing on 180 gram of Coltrane's "Blue Train" for $40 PPD via eBay.
  3. The Pluto stuff wouldn't sell, except for AILD but that My Spacecoaster would be so good.
  4. I actually think Axl Rose in 2011 is hotter than Fergie in her hottest day.
  5. Last years game was significant for me 'cause it was the first time the Saints made it to the Superbowl. Not only was that exciting but the second half last year was one of the best games I've seen in a long time (and it was nice that the Saints came back). I'm hoping this year is just as exciting. I'll pull for Green Bay. Steelers have enough titles.
  6. http://www.deadformat.net/topic.php?id=28409 I don't have any of those bands specifically but I've got some related stuff for sale.
  7. Hey man, I got "So much staying Alive" and a new copy of "Live In Chicago". http://www.deadformat.net/topic.php?id=28409 Check out everything I got. Message me on here or DF.
  8. Yeah, but those on eBay are the jackasses who mark everything up. They were that much when they still had some in the DW store. Just wait for a less common variant to come up on eBay. I bet you'd catch one under $20 within the next couple months.
  9. No doubt. I loved this label when I was in college. There first 15 releases were pretty good. I lost track of them after the bands they were signing sort of all sounded the same. I still have the My Spacecoaster album. That first As I Lay Dying record would be cool to see on vinyl. The split they did with American Tragedy too.
  10. Literally just added it a cart earlier today because I thought about getting it. They must've had one.
  11. Shop Radio Cast has the pink/green for $20. http://www.shopradiocast.com/products/Blink-182-%252d-Blink-182-%282XLP%29-Limited-Edition.html
  12. I was only taking issue with your claim that these storms were worst than Katrina. They're drawing comparisons, but it shouldn't. It was a big cyclone, I know. Katrina was too. I feel badly for those who've suffered. It just feels disrespectful to compare storms that kill hundreds to a storm that killed 1,800. Okay, back to vinyl: Yeah yeah, Copeland. That album is great. Anchor and Braille, hopefully they keep putting stuff out. Here's a question: How come the Copland LP doesn't have the Militia Group trademarks and name. It just has AFS. Just curious? Most of the records have both the label that releases it and the label that presses it on vinyl.
  13. I have a copy of this, I'll sell it cheaper than the label. Not trying to take business away from them I just don't want it. I got it free when Broken Circles took a long time to fulfill my last order so I'll sell it cheap.
  14. I'd like to hold out to see if some more black copies are freed up after the PO and shipping.
  15. They misspoke mate. The lowest pressure Cyclone Yasi had was 922 mbar. Katrina's was 902 mbar. Katrina was the costliest storm in US history and in the top five of deadliest. Nothings compares.
  16. So far, this is nowhere near Hurricane Katrina's damage. A reminder: at least 1,836 people died during or directly after making it the deadliest U.S. hurricane since 1928. The total property damage was estimated at $81 billion. Trust me, I can sympathize, I lived here during and now after the storm. But there isn't much one can compare to Katrina.
  17. Individual sellers are more likely to be accurate than businesses.
